Video Weekend 12-30-2017 (7 Videos)

The topics for this last Video Weekend of 2017:

  1. Our Rigged Political Process
  2. Free Press & Speech
  3. Economy
  4. Some Fun to Finish With

I. Our Rigged Political Process

Challenging the Party Duopoly (a.k.a. Twin Party Tyranny):

II. Free Press & Speech

The upcoming next step to rescue free speech and assembly on the Internet:

What we get from a no longer free press: loads of advertisement and propaganda. Remember the Nazi regime, with a one-voice “people’s” radio and outlawing of listening to any other (in this case foreign) stations? The Soviet Union worked similarly. And now it’s us becoming the same:

III. Economy

Belt tightening for us but not the rich. Making us pay for debts we didn’t accumulate. Making the underclass pay fo the upper class, and more:

What’s wrong with the poor? (essentially a rich boy, right-winger, market worshiper, self-righteous, privileged bubble dweller awakens to a bit of reality and realizes the necessity of a UBI which, sadly, some people on the “left” misread just because, like anything else, it can be bungled or misused):

Some major points:

  1. venture capital for the people
  2. quite affordable
  3. better to give needy people the money currently wasted on bureaucrats who conduct means tests or think they know better than the people themselves how they should spend it
  4. Too many jobs nowadays are useless, make-work rather than productive. And with increased technological displacement this will get worse.
  5. The goal of education shouldn’t be to prepare you for pointless jobs but for a life well lived.
  6. Productive and wealthy as our nation has become (and the whole planet can become), life without poverty should no longer be a privilege but a right we grant each other. (because we should never stand by idle when fellow humans suffer)

They get to have. We get to watch. They get to fail and cheat us. We get to bail them out. Forget mere regulations, fiddlings, incrementalism and such. The system is foul to the core. It needs a total redesign:

IV. Some fun to finish

Russia, oh Russia, really is rigging our “Democracy,” oh yeah!

Ending Note: It takes me at least 100 hours a month to research and write for this site. If you can’t afford this, then don’t, but please share my posts, tell folks about my online course offering, refer others to this site, refer me to paying outlets or companionable fellow blogs, partake in discussion, or contribute essays of your own. Or help my book get out there when it’s finished. Thanks. Only together can we change this world. 🙂
