Hooray! She did it! She won, and thus we the people won… in New York for now. There are many more places where we must and can win. If you missed it, here is last night’s election coverage of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (about whom I shared again on Sunday) running against one of our top corruptitians (by TYT, the only good coverage I could find so far… sure, TYT has its issues often still being stuck in old-fashioned party politics, but they still do good work with some regularity, better than the big corporate networks for certain):

Note: Remember, NY has public campaign financing making victories of people’s candidates running against the establishment so much more possible. Alexandria described it in a video clip shared on here last November. Here it is again, the part on Public Campaign Financing at 13:52 – 15:45 minutes:

Gist: NY City gives 6 to 1 matching donations for every not too big donation thus providing a counterweight against Big Money. (not to forget the many other good things she says shirking party orthodoxy and opening up to independents and the people’s needs)
And shared at the start of this month, again, is her amazing campaign video:

Quote: “A New York for the many is possible.” Indeed! So is an America for the many! And as she also said, it doesn’t take a hundred years. It takes political courage.
So, let’s take courage. Never again vote for corrupt politicians. Only vote for people’s candidates, no matter what their funding, no matter what chances the talking establishment heads on TV give them, no matter their party affiliation or independence. That’s the way to change our country not just for the better or less horrible, but for the good. That and running grassroots campaigns, building a people’s agenda and coalition, educating ourselves and discussing real issues among other things using and supporting independent outlets like Beanstock’s World, The Revolution Continues, and the many other outlets I share on here.
For the finish, here is Alexandria’s victory interview:

Note: If you wish to dig deeper or follow up on AOC, here is her campaign site: ocasio2018.com – (brandnewcongress.org/platform seems to have been remolded, btw, apparently into brandnewcongress.org/policy)
Ending Note: It takes me at least 100 hours of spare time each month to research and write news updates and analyses and work on my book. Please widely share links to these articles, so this work is not for naught. You can also help in other ways (including much needed financial support). Only together can we change this messed-up world. Let’s do it! 🙂
