On Average, Each American Employee would make $17,000 More Each Year If…

…if it weren’t for the rich stealing from us. … if about 40 years ago they hadn’t begun revving up their plunder of working Americans — this made possible by them having bought the government and having used it to deregulate themselves (removing the referee from the economic game) and also by having used it to shift the tax burden on working families.

I reported on these economic statistics in the past and calculated that the rich are raking in at least half of our earnings (that we work for and they don’t). In fact, my own calculation came to the average working class family making $45,500 more per year if we weren’t getting robbed by the rich.

TYT recently gave a report detailing some of these stats. The clip gets most informative towards the end (6:44 min in) — the preceding stuff is less clear:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “BREAKING: Wages Falling Dramatically”)

Conclusion: if each working American is bereft of $17,000 more per year (and nowadays most families have no less than TWO income earners!), don’t you think that if we took back our government and had it recover that stolen money to pay for Medicare for All, Social Security for All, free college and vocational education, and a federal job guarantee program, that the question on how to pay for it all would never come up? Should the money somehow fall a little short after all, say because of an oversized federal job guarantee program, then slashing our insanely high war machine spendings would surely make up for the difference. And that’s something we have to do anyway if we wan to stop being the world’s most murderous country.

I keep saying that our jointly upheld economy is productive enough to make a good life for all happen. It’s merely the thieving robber billionaires and their millionaire minions who stop it from happening by stealing us blind and corrupting the government to be on their side. It’s as simple as that, and it makes our responsibility to take Big Money out of politics and properly structure our economy clear, doesn’t it?

Only together can we change this messed-up world. Let’s do it! 🙂
