This weekend compilation of enlightening videos is a little shorter and less varied since I was traveling all week, short on time, and cut off from the Internet most of the time. Still here are insightful videos esp. on the economy, its relationship with government spending and tax cuts, the SCOTUS show around Kavanaugh, the latest tax heist, the amazing political con job keeping so many folks bedazzled, fighting for election integrity and to break up the big banks, the ongoing media war, a very comprehensive speech by a major fighter for the people (Chris Hedges), and a tip of the hat to the burgeoning People’s Movement.
I. Government Spending & Economy
Mark Blyth gave a good explanation connecting private and public debt and savings and government spending & the economy:

II. SCOTUS Show
Pretty bad that the checks and balances have been repealed so much that a simple majority vote (51 to 49%) now suffices for such a important and long-lasting decision like a lifetime seat on the supreme court:

Also sad how the spectacle is used to hide other dramatic events like this years step 2 tax heist.
III. Tax Heist
And, as the corruptitions always do, they use a big holiday or a big political spectacle like the lifetime nomination of a corporatist goon to the Supreme Court to secretly pass another horror while the public is distracted. Right now it is another tax heist for the rich added on top of the big robbery of a year ago:

- While many analysts think that this latest tax heist won’t pass the Senate, one hope of the corporate oligarchy stooges in Congress may very well be that yet another spectacle (which Trump is so skilled at producing) will allow a second sneak pass to get through the Senate, too.
- Some analysts think that this gamble serves primarily the purpose of pulling more corporations and robber billionaire donors to their side ideally in time for massive advertisement payments before the mid-terms.
- Since growing government debt means growing private holdings of that debt, it comes ut to selling the government (i.e. a critical part of our country) to the rich. Key word: privatization. And if you were raised with the false belief that government is always evil and privatization always good, take a look at the difference between older people on Medicare and the rest of us in the Wild West of American private health insurances, many of us not getting covered even if we hve been paying insurance premiums through our noses, 1 million bankruptcies a year from lacking health coverage… Then think again if privatization is good.
IV. Political Con Job
Such a con job of serving the ‘elite’ while pretending to fight it on behalf of the people is an old trick, especially of fascists, and it’s amazing so many people still fall for it.

V. Election Integrity
It is good that more Americans are becoming ware of the rampant home-made election meddling (as opposed to comparatively insignificant Russian looks in that direction) that has been a growing part of democracy denial i the U.S. (the biggest part being that the oligarchy decides who gets onto our ballots and what we ever hear or don’t hear about candidates in the media). It is also good that some are finally beginning to fight election rigging with some chance of success (especially around Tim Canova and Greg Palast) taking legal action and pulling the blinders off the public which for decades chose to ignore it all. It’s a good start:

VI. Bernny Roosevelt
Pretty cool. Not only does Bernie Sanders echo Franklin Dean Roosevelt in trying to bring back the New Deal which created America’s long gone Golden Age but also Teddy Roosevelt’s breaking up of the Big Trusts — in Bernie’s case, the big Wall Street banks which gave us the Great Recession and were bailed out FOR FREE (Ugh!!!) with our tax dollars for being “Too big too fail”. It makes total sense to trim them smaller as opposed to letting them grow even 80% bigger than they were back then:
(Note: If the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Bernie Launches Plan To Break Up Wall Street Giants”)
Comment: So, Bernie has given us reason to doubt him (what with endorsing $Hillary, all his trying to bring people back into the treacherous “Democratic” Party, and attempting to reform it back to its FDR standards when such a project seems bound to fail) but all those people who consider him a traitor or a grand-stander who has never accomplished anything are really mistaken. Bernie is a guy who lived through the transformation of the “Democratic” Party as a more or less people’s party into a second billionaires’ party alongside the first one (the GOP) and fought all his political life on a forlorn post against the corporate takeover of our nation and the scrapping of government services for the people. He has earned my admiration as a kind-of insider who stretches the envelope from within. Still, we can look further than what he is currently trying to achieve. Let’s not forget that the labor unions who used to be the DP’s main source of financial support and were so soundly betrayed by it starting in the late eighties have finally gotten the guts to withdraw their support and work for a new and true people’s party. Lots of moves in the correct direction are happening. Talking about the correct direction… capping wealth could and should go further than just breaking up the biggest “trusts” (corporations) and banks. To end the oligarchy and flatten our incredibly steep wealth pyramid, we need to cap personal wealth, as well. Without that we will never make profound and lasting change for the better.
VII. A Fighter with Much Knowledge
… and experience. Chris Hedges summed up a lot in this recent speech:
(Note: If the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Chris Hedges in Eugene, Oct. 3, 2018”)
Comment: Hedges is spot on saying that we need movements, strong people’s movements standing up for what’s right. Even the best politicians cannot save us from going further down the drain (leave alone climbing back out) without people power to draw on. And as we get busy building a people’s tsunami, we better include in it the sweeping installment of a grassroots people’s party, one that is democratic not just in name.
VIII. Media War
Why we must help each other stopping to watch mainstream media aside from pure entertainment. Why we must stop their political claims and ads:

IX. Movement For a People’s Party
The movement is here. It’s accelerating. So, if you want necessary change and don’t know how to push for it, here is your opportunity:

Ending Note: To get the word out despite of Social Media blocking, please widely share links to these posts. You can also help in other ways (including much needed financial support if you can afford it). And don’t forget to sign up for notifications (you may never again hear of a post here on Social Media as the blocking ratchets up)! Together can we change this messed-up world.
