The downward path of greed-driven profit-for-the-few capitalism playing workers across the world against each other to keep going further and further down the drain. What an irony. Back in the colonial age, the Brits flooded China with an opioid epidemic. When American corporate bosses sold American jobs to China, the bottom fell out from under the feet of Americans and America has now plunged into an opioid crisis. And as a final irony, a Chinese capitalist has come to Dayton Ohio and opened a factory in a former GM plant, paying less than half of what the industrial workers there earned a decade ago. Do you still believe in capitalism?

Especially good points: In capitalism you can’t become great unless you are born with the right tools and opportunities. How many geniuses starve before they can give us their great contribution to progress? How much better our world would be if our system let them do their contribution? Capitalism doesn’t produce goods/wealth/prosperity. Nor does socialism or any other ism. It’s working people who do, and they should get their fair share. When one in nine people is starving while the resources that are needed for everyone to live healthy and fulfilling lives languish in the bank accounts of billionaires, and those billionaires want even more, that’s the swear word ‘entitlement’.
VII. Bernie Questioning Powerfully
This short clip demonstrates one of the reasons I have seen a lot of potential in Bernie Sanders since he entered my horizon in 2016. In this hearing, Trump’s EPA Nominee agrees on climate change being real (unlike some of his allies), but as Bernie questions him it becomes clear that the nominee only pays lip service and aims at keeping necessary measures minimal. He slickly demotes the climate crisis to merely a climate “issue” and uses the global nature of the crisis to pull the United States out of any responsibility. Such sophistry is very telling, and Bernie isn’t fooled for a moment and knows how to cut down to the bone. Boy, he would have made a darn good president if the “Democratic” Party hadn’t rigged its primaries:

X. Trump’s Wall of Absurdity

Note: Of course, the largest absurdity among all of these is that Trump’s Wall could never improve lives north of the border since a mere 3% of people at the monetary bottom of our society (that’s what 11 million poor undocumented immigrants in our 327 million strong nation are, 3%!) can’t hurt our economy and working lives while 1% at the top owning almost everything and getting to make all the big decisions can and do. Nobody ever stole your job. Rather your wealthy owner took it away from you and gave it to a cheaper worker. Heck, I have been there. In one of my former jobs we were ordered to train our Mexican replacements preceding our layoff.
XI. Pressuring Politicians (AOC)
That’s what we need. Not just a few more seats in elected office, but pressure on those terrible holders of the seats we the people do not yet control:

Comment: I am really impressed with Abby Martin. What if her career changed like mine has so many times in my convoluted, undesirable life. What if she switched from journalism (where she gets defunded and repressed so much) to political activism or running for office…? 😉
And let’s not forget, one aspect of a people’s movement realizing a world of, by, and for the people is a people’s party (best allied with other movements for change and already existing third parties to better coordinate and to overcome the people’s division and splintering suffered for so long).
