4. Germany reporting on U.S. Poverty
“Homelessness, hunger and shame: poverty is rampant in the richest country in the world. Over 40 million people in the United States live below the poverty line, twice as many as it was fifty years ago. It can happen very quickly.”
How poor people survive in the USA | DW Documentary
5. Big or Small Government in Oligarchy
This brief review of American history suggests that (A) the people standing up against monarchies and dictatorships erect a democratically controlled government to replace them (or try to). And (B) wannabe oligarchs fight to weaken the government, shrink it, privatize pulic resources (into their claws) and undermine democracy by buying up the weakened government. But, once they have taken it over, they happily grow it again, at tleast its military, surveillance and police state, in order to oppress and control the rest of the people even more. Ronald Reagan was the chief mascot of phase B. Under Bill Clinton phase B was still continued with some first slip into phase C. In the Bush-Cheney regime phase C became full bore. Phase C was continued under Obama and keeps being expanded under Trump. Those of us not being young, have lived through both B and C — rotten precarious lives not worth living in many of our cases and watching our country go down the drain. We’re currently in the garbage disposal stage of phase C in desperate need to stand up for democracy again and an egalitarian society where resources (a.k.a. wealth) are shared fairly, not concentrated in the hands of a few gangsters who use the power of money to take over everything and leave the rest of us empty-handed and oppressed — and thus unable to deal with a mass extinction and climate calamity coming down upon us, not only making our lives worthless but driving humanity to extinction.

6. The Blue-Red One-Party System (Fascist Patriot Act Renewed)
Dems Quietly Give Trump Spying Powers w/Patriot Act Renewal ~ The Jimmy Dore Show
7. Socialist GOP
Not just originally when Lincoln fought slavery (and land accumulation???), but right now, too. Why? Because people want fair lives, fair communities, even the ones who stayed loyal to the long corrupted R-Party… (and those still loyal to the likewise corrupted D-Party):

8. Business Aristocracy Discussed
David Cay Johnston: The Perils Of Our Growing Inequality ~ New Economic Thinking
An important point made: Members of the upper class, for example the talking heads in the corporate media, think the world is just fine, it is just, because they have lived all their lives in the privilege bubble where good and hard work, serious efforts, and sometimes even non-serious ones and mere lucky incidents or lazy waiting around, always get rewarded. They have never experienced and can not imagine the lives the rest of us have to live where our way forward is constantly barred and great successes either ignored or their positive outcomes soon nullified, say by mass layoffs, employer bankruptcies, and so on. They have never been members of the by now huge precariat whose existence they cannot imagine, even though living utterly precarious lives is now very common.
Also a good succinct evaluation of Reaganomics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ok7ZJ8mS19Y&feature=youtu.be&t=671
If Reaganism worked, if Bush’s [and Trump’s] tax cuts worked, America today would be swimming in jobs. That’s what we were promised. It would lead to all this investment and all these jobs. Instead, it’s led to this enormous concentration of wealth among people who can never consume that much wealth, and who now increasingly are putting it into financial products rather than investing it in ways that grow the economy.” — What’s left out is a light shone on the nature of these ‘financial products’. Basically, the mortgage crisis was an example. Financial capitalism does ONE thing: shifting resources (a.k.a. wealth) such as real estate into the hands of the financial predators, leaving the rest of us stripped. Some great investment, huh?

9. Change: Mild Tweaking Won’t Work
Systemic illness can’t be cured with a band-aid. We must change the power structure, the underlying forces of our sick system, the prosperity-distribution structure to get out of our lethal inequality (directly addressed near the end ~@@@https://youtu.be/2NsTeeb-87w?t=974).

12. U.S. Poverty so Underreported – Talk w/ the Poor People’s Campaign

13. World: Bolivia (History before the Coup, Current Coup Situation)
Documentary of Bolivia’s history, describing the change brought about by a Bolivian people’s movement best known from the outside by its now coup-ousted president Evo Morales (now smeared by our mendacious corporate media as an election-rigging “dictator” — the latter not being part of this documentary that came out in 2014):

14. The #1 Reason for Socialism “Failure”
Capitalism → oligarchy → national security state → sanctions, regime change wars and coups, war on the people
So, when the uncontested single super power on our planet destroys foreign economies, how are their elected and socially responsible governments to blame? When the uncontested single super power on our planet stages military coups in foreign countries, are the people of those countries to blame (surely the allied gangs there, yes, but hardly the mass of morally upstanding and victimized people)? And can we assume not to be targeted even back here at home by those same state forces that we fund with our taxes and staff with our brothers and sisters when we struggle for positive change for our own country? I hope we can. But we must be smart about it.
