This week: mostly capitalism, esp. financial capitalism and bad vs healthy culture. Also Medicare for All.
Not coming across numerous good new videos on commonly good channels, I did some hard online searching and thus discovered two new channels (Sustainable Human and JENerational Change). Several neat videos from these channels are shared here today.

1. The Cult Of Crazy Self (by Chris Hedges) ***
True Liberty needs individuality, free speech, assembly, solidarity, common good, democracy. Healthy individuality is not sociopathic “rugged individuality”, celebrity nonsense like how one looks, nor narcissism. The latter make society unhealthy, our lives bad. They give us the capitalist culture of stealing from others and harshly competing with one another. All me, me, me. Nobody else counts. And that’s how we all get hurt.
The Cult Of The Self | Chris Hedges ~ Sustainable Human (Apr 4, 2021)
2. Destroying the World and Making Lives Harder and Harder vs Returning to Normal Lives **
Comments by a man who grew up in the country side and moved into hos country’s capital to rise up:
Why Do We Make Life So Hard? | Jon Jondai ~ Sustainable Human (Oct 18, 2020)
3. How Big Wealth Makes People Bad (by Paul Piff) **
Richness pushes a button in the human mind to bring evil selfishness and ruthlessness to the top, even though the pieces of a healthy human mind may still exist below and be ready to be brought back up again, empathy returning. Another reason, I’d say, why extreme wealth must be brought to an end alongside ending poverty (a financially ideal restructuring of our economies, btw).
How Wealth Changes People | Paul Piff ~ Sustainable Human (Nov 8, 2020)
4. Learning from Argentina How to Rescue Jobs ***
First half: Summary about what’s now happening in our rental market and Biden’s lack of helping the American People (helping the rich lords instead). Richard Wolff already talked about this in recent interviews; so it may not be new to it. If it is, better listen to it.
Second Half (at 15:18): Here he is not interviewed but does himself interview someone, an author who wrote a cool sounding book about Argentina’s amazing workers’ survival fight taking over their businesses who had been betraying them. Rather than just shuffling out onto the pavement of the streets, when their business owners started selling off their machines and moving labor to places like China, the Argentinian workers captured their factories and turned them into worker co-ops that now give them a lot better job security, wages, and working conditions. I often ask myself why American workers didn’t do the same. Or did some of us do this in smaller numbers that were kept secret about by the mass media in order to not spread this defense practice? I wonder. We, the American People, should definitely disallow American companies to move their labor to foreign countries or with the profits made by their workers replace them with machines and then throw their workers out on the curb. A fairer way, likely done by worker co-ops, would be to possibly do buy machines that do some of the work previously done by human hands and heads, but simply reduce everyone’s working hours (but not their wages and benefits), so they can all live better (more time for family members, friends, chores, hobbies, home building, gardening, relaxation… well, life) instead of living worse (unemployed / poor), the capitalist move only having made the rich business owners and CEOs even richer while wrecking countless lives and communities, much like the Vikings used to enrich themselves by raiding other lands. Oh, the wonderful common practices of capitalism, eh?
Economic Update: Workers Successfully Take Over Their Workplaces ~ Democracy At Work (Apr 19, 2021)
5. Government Dishonesty Regarding COVID-19
The virus itself hasn’t been our only pandemic health problem. A corrupted government serving the profit making health industry and Wall Street rather than its people, and – to do so – playing with our heads rather than being honest.
Dr. Fauci Confronted Over His Multiple Lies ~ The Jimmy Dore Show (Apr 22, 2021)
6. Need to Change Our Economic Mentality
It’s time to wake up and improve our perception of our economic setup, replacing the false narratives we have grown up with.
Prof. Richard Wolff: To See Real Recovery We Need New Eyes ~ The Zero Hour with RJ Eskow (Apr 25, 2021)
7. Labor vs Profits, Better Lives vs Richer Lords
When reducing human labor need with machines, less work hours would be a far better outcome than the currently made profit growth for the lords coinciding with huge layoffs for working people.
How Our Economy Exploits Us ~ Sustainable Human (May 27, 2017)
8. Lives Built on Sand (by Jon Stewart) *
Systematic entrapment of so many of us, hardly justifiable.
The Real Problem Underlying This Moment | Jon Stewart ~ Sustainable Human (Sep 20, 2020)
9. Real Wealth vs Debt-Based Money *
We people are real wealth. Land and housing is real wealth. Money, OTOH, nowadays is just created out of thin air by banks pushing a button to give credit and then enrich the bank owners with loan interests with which they then buy away our lands and housing and businesses… This legally forged money wealth, originally (or allegedly?) made legal to make possible unlimited economic growth, has become a massive wealth theft method by the financial industry that has created a kind of financial feudalism and ruins our lives and planet.
The Fatal Design Of Debt-Based Money | Jem Bendell, Richard Wolff, Stephanie Kelton ~ Sustainable Human (Jan 24, 2021)
10. Financial Feudalism (by Yanis Varoufakis)
Today’s artificial money creation out of thin air by the banksters places us in a financially made neo-feudalism. This interview addressing this issue gets interesting at 21:40. Shared here from that moment on:

11. Medicare For All – Pushing Back Against the Private Health Insurances’ Propaganda & Lies
The full 1 hour conversation with a whistleblowing former health insurance worker (a good point made by an interviewer is at 20:57:

Shorter clips extracted from the 1 hour conversation (in order of importance, in case you lack time):
Clip 1: No massive job losses in health insurances:
Medicare For All WILL NOT ELIMINATE JOBS in the Insurance Industry ~ JENerational Change (Apr 20, 2021)
Arguments for less interested people (for example an improved “free” market and a need to improve the current Medicare for seniors who already have it but which lacks dental and eye care):
Wendell Potter: The Key to Creating Momentum on Medicare for All ~ JENerational Change (Apr 20, 2021)
Dealing with the nasty establishment narrative (incl. government distrust and cost lies):
Wendell Potter Explains How the Insurance Industry PROPAGANDIZES America ~ JENerational Change (Apr 21, 2021)
Well said that: Sure, M4A would be financed through tax dollars; but we would no longer have to pay insurance premiums that rise every year, nor co-payments and deductibles. Thus our healthcare spending costs would actually drop – rather than rise as the profit-making liars always allege. (and that costs drop when finally everybody would be covered all the time, no matter when losing a job or a spouse)
And if Wendell Potter looks and appears a lot (the latter because of similar former career) like RJ Eskow who runs the Zero Hour independent media channel and has been shared here frequently, here is a 2017 talk of those two.
