Chemicals, tilling, mono-cultures, false cattle feeding, weird factory food productions, and profits-aimed distribution and trashing cause mass extinction, soil destruction, a lot of greenhouse gas production, and a waste of a lot of food. And, yes, a return to more small-scale farming could help (it still producing 51% of all human food, btw).

Unfortunately this guy does leave out some important issues. One is that even in the 50s and 60s the news companies still cheated people simply by leaving out certain stories of what was going on. He also leaves out the switch from many small companies to the mere five to six big corporations that now run most of the media. He also forgets that big corporations (including the Military Industrial Complex) by giving or denying advertisements that give news businesses their revenues play a big role. Plus, of course, mafiosi-like robber barons having financed right-wing radio channels and such.
So, this video could have been a lot better. But it does display some differences happening across American journalism history even if explaining the causes for the differences only a little bit.

My comment: Rather than directing well off people into enjoying beautiful nature and emerging into human solidarity and therefore then commit themselves to help less lucky fellow humans (and other beings) and human-harmed environments and build towards a Good Life for All world, this well off woman of narcissist mental color merely teaches her well off fellows to balance their emotions to feel better with no attempts to make our nasty world better. And poor people she briefly mentions as being likely of high emotional addiction. Sheesh.
