1. Capitalism’s Human Stupefaction */**

… we should have instead collective decision making on production ideas, work hours, etc. The video is a bit long (hence the * of */** stars), the best part starting around the middle (deserving the ** stars).

2. Empire Decline Burden Put on You and Me *

If you already watched “Global Capitalism: The Second War In Ukraine” (for example here in the Truthful News Weekend 2023-01-14 post) you have heard this speech before. If not, it’s of possible interest.

U.S. Elite Fear U.S. Losing Its Dominance – Global Capitalism with Richard Wolff ~ Democracy At Work (Jan 29, 2023)

3. Economic Update (January 30, 2023)

Not much new stuff in this episode this time (despite even interviewing with Chris Hedges). Major thing in the first half: how governments should deal with overly corrupt companies (in this given example: Southwest Airlines), namely nationalize a customers mistreating while socially important company (nationalized transport systems have in my experience typically been better than privatized ones: more reliable and generally available). Also brought up that capitalism’s problems regularly get blamed on workers (as being lazy, fat, and stupid, etc.) by the rulers (capitalists) who in reality make all the decisions ordered to the workers. The interview of Chris Hedges is about the Ukraine war. The only maybe new piece being his remark that the only likely possible way for us common people to end this mess would be mass strikes and threats of then by organized labor.

4. Capitalist Religion *

Interesting history and present tense. Christian churches warped away from original Christianity by the gangsterly capitalists.

5. French Mass Strike and Protests *

About 2 millions were estimated to have been protesting in the streets, believed to go on for weeks. Since we Americans must learn again how to make our desires heard and taken seriously by corrupted government and money lords, a small report like this even from abroad has some usefulness for us. (BTW, it gets mentioned that 80% of the French people oppose the plan to delay early retirement from 62 years age to 64-65 and that ~23% of the poorest workers are already dead by 65. And in comparison remember that in the U.S. our living ages are now shrinking! With the Social Security cheat we were hit with at some point, namely us having to pay individual tax portions into it and left utterly poor in retirement when we were kept poor during our work age AND having to pay big premium for Medicare then (sometimes more than the Social Security we get, I suspect) and having (unlike in other countries) little to none of housing protection when in poverty we are forced to rent. How many of us can even retire any more? I sure can’t without some help (like letting me do freelance work or assisting me with making money via an online tool I build for free). And what to do when we become physically and/or mentally crippled at old age? Most human generations were far more solidary and helpful for its aged members (that we all sooner or later become when not dying young). But nowadays in the U.S. we have endless horror and disasters. And when will we finally sweep away our people-division and rise up together?)

6. Growing Progressive Attempts in Latin America vs U.S.-Pushed Coups

Always misrepresented in our mass media, of course. And, yes, It is a tough effort for people held in slavery-like colonies for many many generations, violently held under control first by European colonizing countries (mostly Spain and Portugal) and then by corporations, government, and deep state organizations and global institutions of the United States. But in the last two decades impressive progressive risings have occurred, greatly diminishing inequalities, poverties, and the terrorizing over indigenous people. Still much to learn and develop, but also already some amazing development occurred by now that can even make us U.S. people envious in some cases.

The U.S. struggled with an hours-long ground stop, as the FAA scrambled to fix a system outage. America has ruled out a cyberattack, but president Joe Biden has still ordered an investigation into the matter.

9. People’s Party: Anti-Ukraine War Rally Coming this Month

In two weeks. Text given with this short video: “On February 19 we are going to Washington DC to Rage Against the War Machine! We will rally at the Lincoln Memorial with vets, speakers, rock bands, and comedians then march to the White House to demand an end to the billions going to Ukraine!”

10. The Individual Responsibility Fanaticism Denying Our Mutual Dependence *

… and the mutual/societal responsibility our culture now lacks. The first really good video by this guy IMHO (in his previous ones I checked in the past he was for me simply to windy and not intense enough, apparently having a too good life himself to e sufficiently aware of the widespread suffering and horrific injustice — but, yes, better this time). The slightly fixed (a missing word added by me) final conclusion that he gave here: “We should remember that we’re all dependent on one another in some way, that the responsibility should be placed on the powerful, not the powerless; that the dispossessed are more likely to succeed with some kind of external aid. Instead of being responsible for only ourselves, the concept of mutual obligations or duties includes responsibility to work hard and improve ourselves, but can also better accommodate contributing to the world, aiding others, remembering no man is an island, and turning our gaze not inwards but outwards.”

11. Our Violence Culture vs Healthy Wholeness **

(healthy society wholeness = living together for mutual assistance, compassion, and wisdom = solidarity (= the aim of former religion heroes like Yeshua (Jesus), certain revolutionaries, and the economic healing desire named socialism or communism, sadly a lot misrepresented in our capitalist right-wing country built up as the primary M.I.T. base and a capitalist slavery plantation for our American and global money lords))

If this 18 minutes video is too long for you, maybe only listen to the speaker’s conclusion. The speaker finishes with these words: “I dream of a day when we’ve learned to live together in such a way that no one has to depend on marginalizing, exploiting, or traumatizing another human being to try to meet their own needs. And I dream of a day when no one feels the need to harass me into buying a weapon, because we’ve made it possible to live together with compassion and wisdom where everyone feels and is finally safe.”
