For others short on time, here is another weekly share of cool videos dealing with our issues. Major ones handled this time: unethical cultural & systemic flaws hurting us and building mentality and a people’s movement to fix these issues. Also part 5 of the series on making affordable housing possible (more critical than ever due to the looming mass evictions).

Neat videos: First, a great video on what human life is meant to be (egalitarian and natural!). Next, billionaires are systemically evil. And lots more on: the money aristocracy, awareness, state coups, “Dem” debates, “Dem” candidates (Bernie vs Warren, Tulsi vs DNC, Biden BS), billionaires vs free speech, separating anger from action to make change, our political choice between fascism and a better world, and, and, and, incl. some humor. 🙂

There is a reason why in my critique of our abusive current system and promotion of a Good Life for All (incl. No Rich and No Poor but universal prosperity) system I regularly point at how our ancestors lived before resources-hoarding from agriculture and abusive large-population hierarchies ruined human life having us all born into a man-made hell to fizzle out our lives in:
How We Are Being “Civilized To Death” w/Christopher Ryan ~ The Jimmy Dore Show
Comments:
As far as our rapidly changing world goes, let’s not forget that those of us who grew up in the fifties, sixties, or possibly even seventies, grew up with the expectation of picking a profession, contributing to society in this profession throughout our working lives (stable working lives!!!), enjoy hobbies, maybe build or buy a home, and then retire in comfort for the last slice of our lives. But job security went away, retirement security went away. Even healthcare and education did. All was taken by the super rich to make themselves even richer. People like me have been crushed out of their jobs AND PROFESSIONS over and over and over again, losing all our lives savings every time, and seeing ahead of us a bleak future of a last phase of life in utter poverty and helplessness.
As far as trying to return to where we came from goes, there isn’t only hunting and fishing (and other hobbies) that resemble H&G life, there are also other popular activities: parties, sports, and VACATIONS… socializing with other people, traveling around to see nature or villages or town and ruins never seen before. Vacations that aren’t staycations (that poor people like me are often limited to, if in fact we aren’t busy hunting for a new job) do indeed resemble the roaming H&G life! Travel-vacations are such a high mark in people’s lives and so incredibly relaxing and recharging for some reason, aren’t they?
Our great ape relatives: Chimps resemble capitalism or (with the lack of hoardable resources) a simpler form of unequal authoritarianism. Bonobos (an evolutionary recent split from chimps) resemble the “Love not War” Hippie movement or communes that was perhaps sparked to no small extent by the development of birth control. We humans seem to have both instinctual MOs built in.
And kudos for bringing up the vastly important topic so generally avoided: our dying phase that our greed-driven capitalist society is not at all prepared to handle with any form of dignity. An issue we must discuss because it is critical and can also help us tie ourselves together and dismiss the silly distractions with which we are lambasted daily by the establishment.
This has happened many times before in American History. The people who previously wanted to progress away from cruel, evil system setups were too unaware of the appeasement and co-opting tactics coming for them from the ruling establishment to stop them in their tracks. So, the following conversation should not be mistaken for an anti-Bernie or anti-AOC clip, but rather as the kind of alertness we all must adopt, Bernie, AOC, you, and me.
Elected figures like Bernie and AOC walk a tightrope in the sell-out party they have been running in, not daring to run outside it because the artificial barriers against independents are so criminally high. I understand why they sometimes believe they must make compromises with the ruling ‘elites’ or adopt a staying-silent strategy on serious issues; but we – the people – are NOT walking this tightrope, and we must make sure not to be lured into spoiled mentalities or bad compromises out of blind loyalty, because once we shift into those gray zones, our champions must shift there, too, or even deeper into them, in order to not loose their footing. We must distinguish between their political survival tactics and our political needs. We must stick firmly to our goals, so that at one point or another, our champions in politics can do the same. So, here is that wakeful conversation that raises alertness but lacks the add-on I just added:

Let there be no doubt: Bernie has won a special place in my heart he is unlikely to ever lose, even when I think he makes a wrong strategic choice (as, for example, I did when he endorsed $Hillary instead of forming a people’s party like Abraham Lincoln did in a similar situation; or when he failed to expose the DNC’s rigging of the 2016 primaries; and when he fell in with the Russiahhhgate BS in order to cuddle up with a zombie-like dumb-witted half of the “D”-party base and to delay being lynched by the corporate media). I’d also want him to speak out for Julian Assange, a free press, and free speech for all, and speak out more readily against regime change attempts and similar global U.S. terrorism. I also see Bernie and AOC as being only partly along the way of “socialism” and especially AOC needing to learn more in that field. I can understand her tightrope walk, as well. I still like her a lot despite this and that shortcoming, hoping she will keep growing in the correct direction. I do keep alert to when people like her and Bernie make mistakes or are drifting towards or even over the line that divides fighting for justice and liberty for all from working for the status quo. We, the people, must grow smarter, more alert, and more demanding as time goes by. Our nation was ruined when entire generations of Americans went to sleep. I can hear some of our nation’s founders spinning in their graves.
I know, the video shared above is not easy to stomach for some of us. We don’t want our political champions to be hurt with possibly inappropriate attacks on their street cred. The point I am trying to make here is different: not to claim that Bernie and AOC have sold out or are going to do so. Nor to debate what mistakes they have ever made. (We all make mistakes. It’s human.) Rather, my point is that we, the people, must stand firm on our position so that our champions can build their fortresses there rather than having to let themselves be pulled further and further away by the establishment forces who have developed great expertise in doing this over the centuries. We must stay on the alert and call back our champions when they range too far. We, you, I, and millions of fellow Americans, play a much bigger role than we usually realize. Bernie has been trying to make us understand this. It’s time we do.
P.S.: By the way, if this video gave you some willies, the coming Video Weekend will rather please you with some remarkably nifty videos coming up. Keep your eyes peeled. 😉

The green-blooded moneycrats who rule us, think life is all about money. Well, it is not. That’s why they ruin our lives. Let’s take a look at people who have turned their back on the the corrupt system and hear what they have to tell:
Human connections and interactions count much more in human happiness than material things:

Comment: In my imagination I would love to live in such a commune (except for my physical handicaps and the gross hunt for squirrels who I see neither as nasty tree rats nor tasty morsels). It would be so much better not having to fight over incomes and savings with my neighbors but rather support one another, be fellows and friends rather than desperate strugglers pitted against each other by a system that is set up to do so. All day, every day, I meet people with virtual blinders on. Last week, in order to help out desperate family members against government reprisals (the details are private) I accepted a menial job in a sweatshop for which I am totally overqualified in terms of education and professional experience but physically underqualified due to bad health. The task is to de-staple, de-eyelet, de-booklet thousands of paper sheets each day to make them scannable. The papers are banking files. It’s unbelievable how many inches of papers are put together for a single person’s single credit by bank clerks many of whom also plaster them with countless staples, metal eyelets, and so forth only for other people to get paid a minimum wage to remove all those troublesome metal pieces again prior to digital scanning. The hand-breaking job reminds me of the movie scene of two guys digging and tossing the dirt into each other’s holes. This dumb job is quite symbolic of the socio-economic system of today in which we modern humans waste away our lifetimes.
One of my colleagues told a local bank branch director that his workers place way too many staples and such on their paperwork requiring a lot of work to remove them again. The director’s only response was laughter. Rather than musing about instructing his clerks not to waste so much time and metal that only raises the banks’ costs for scan preparation he just laughed. Just before awakening the other day, I had an interesting dream. I dreamed that Donald Trump had somehow taken note of me and invited me for a talk with him and one or two others from his circles (probably, but not necessarily, extended family members).
Later, when they were all gone, I had the opportunity to inspect the little room, which was near the entrance through which I had entered Trump’s palace. In three corners I found small cameras which recorded what people were saying and – through advanced artificial intelligence – created a running commentary about the deeper meanings and motivations of the speakers. I wondered if Donald (as he was typically to be called in these familial environments) was receiving this feed in real time during every conference he held, or if he (or some associates or staff of his) checked them out later.
I also found that there were no locked doors anywhere. Many doors were in fact cracked or wide open. I could (and did) venture into the garden (maybe better called a private park) and various other rooms of the palace to find myself socializing with Trump’s extended (think royal) family and other members of the upper class who were spending their days circling through the grounds of the palace to socialize and hobnob with Trump or one another. I even caught a glimpse of The Donald’s bedroom, which was empty at the time. Continue reading “A Funky Dream (or how the top ‘justifies’ inequality)”→
A hallmark of our dark current times is debt. More and more people are drowning in debt while banks get bailed out and bankster CEOs ride into the sunset with huge bonuses even after crashing the world economy. People often think that a system of credit and debt is the latest in economic developments, but in reality debt has a long and interesting history which explains why our almost religious worship of debt can lead to dreadful human suffering.
You have the option of listening to the following 1 hour and 21 minutes-long talk by David Graeber or read my short 598-word summary below:
(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: »David Graeber: “DEBT: The First 5,000 Years” | Talks at Google«)
Summary: Debt started, and is apparently inborn in us, as a way of social cohesion. Example: I gave you, my neighbor, a cow. So, some day, you help me build a new barn. Another neighbor gave me a bunch of chicken to start my chicken coup, and next year, when he has had a bad harvest, I give him and his hungry family several sacks of potatoes… Continue reading “The Seductive and Destructive Power of Debt”→
