1. Not Only Colored People Have Been Trashed in Our History

35th Portier Lecture: “White Trash: The 400-Year History of Class in America” ~ Spring Hill College (Oct 30, 2015)

Comments made on Youtube:

  • “Well she definitely proved who the real enemy is and it isn’t the regular average everyday person. We just want to live in peace prosperity. The enemy is dividing us up over lies!”
  • “Exactly what I’ve been stating for decades – racism is promoted by the elite. Truth is: It’s the rich against poor, not color against color.”

I. Modern Working Lives Not Worth Living

(Note: If the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Thought Slime and the title: “My First Job: The Lazybones Manifesto”)

Note: I grew up during the tail end of the ‘golden age’ expecting a just and fair life. All I have had is a shitty life. Similarly to this man, I have wished all the time I had never been born. That’s why on my way out of it, I fight for better conditions for those coming after me.   Continue reading “Political Awakening Video Weekend 2019-06-23 (20 videos)”

Political Awakening Video Weekend 12-15-2018 (24 videos)

A bright video weekend, not only enlightening but also unusually hopeful and with humor as well. Video Weekend 03-03-2018 (12 videos)

A very varied compilation of enlightening videos, some heavy, some light, ranging from the trap of consumerism through political rigging and reform, Russiagate, immigrants, mindsets, mass shootings, the commercial manufacturing of the Christian right, and military spending to a great pair of very inspiring videos about our road forward:

  1. Consumerism (Consumption instead of Living)
  2. Exclusionary Presidential Debates
  3. Electoral Reform
  4. Russiagate
  5. Immigration
  6. Mindsets
  7. Military Nation
  8. Democracy & the Will of the People

I. Consumerism (Consumption instead of Living)

Selling Life for Consumption – Oh What a Great System (excerpt from a longer speech I shared before, I think):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “The Root Of Consumerism – Richard Wolff“)

II. Exclusionary Presidential Debates

There’s a lawsuit against the establishment’s silencing of public debate and exclusion of independent or third party candidates:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Lawsuit Could Change Presidential Debates Forever Says Attorney for Independent Voter Project“)

In case you somehow don’t really know about the exclusion and silencing that keeps most important ideas and issue discussions from us, watch this brief review:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Who Really Controls Presidential Debates?“)

Comment: I like how he finishes asking us to imagine having more than just 2 choices. Remember the two choices of 2016? Cholera or Plague, which did you prefer? (well, as I kept saying back then, you could have voted for Jill Stein, neither Cholera nor plague. Democratic voting is supposed to be voting for our preference, not a “lesser evil” forced down our throat, after all. How is it a democracy when we merely rubber-stamp the establishment’s pick?).

III. Electoral Reform

An attempt in Oregon to satisfy both the duopoly and the people:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “How Primary Elections Work: Oregon’s Revolutionary Primary Bills“)

IV. Russiagate

An opinion (and some relevant facts) on the topic of the manufactured Russiagate hysteria (best at the start and end):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “[Web Exclusive] Mueller Indictments Are A F**king Joke & It’s Dangerous“)

V. Immigration

A little gift to dreamers and other demonized “illegal” immigrants:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Why Undocumented Immigrants Are Superheroes | Newsbroke (AJ+)“)

Comment: Let’s not forget that people forced to migrate (and not too many leave their home towns, families, countries, cultures, and languages behind frivolously) are humans, too, like the rest of us. As an immigrant nation, we should really be aware of that.

VI. Mindsets in Politics

Left VS Right. How the American “Right” and “Left” look and talk past one another:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Are Republican Voters the Stupid Ones?”)

A lesson from Mass Shootings:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “[100] Parkland Teacher Says What Isn’t Allowed on MSM [EXCLUSIVE] “)

Comment: It’s true. Special ed fails consistently because the lords above insist on saving money on it. Lots of great measures have been written into law but can never been done because of underfunding. So, only cheap measures remain, like reseating a student, with the described consequences of stigmatization and isolation, even, or especially, in integrated classrooms. I have worked as a teacher. I know. – What’s left out in this episode is that even if we create a warm and supportive school environment, once young people enter the adult word, they are exposed to the cruel law of the jungle where the poisonous snakes and largest predators rule, having turned their predation into law, and then you get adults losing it and engage in mass shootings in a vain effort to end this immoral civilization.

Manufacturing Believes. The money-milking, profiteering, attention-whorish, PR-professional source of the religious right (the types who support death penalty and overwhelmingly worship Trump):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “How to Stop Being a Fundamentalist Evangelical Christian“)

VII. Military Nation

The Role of the Pentagon (besides war profiteering):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Noam Chomsky: The Military Is Misunderstood“)

VIII. Democracy & the Will of the People

People’s Platforms Can and Do Win:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Polls Show Jeremy Corbyn Leading Labour To Stunning Destruction of Tories in Local Elections“)

Building the Movement to reverse our Runaway Inequality:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “MPP-TV Third Series Interview With Les Leopold”)

Comment: Become a movement builder and boost and assist other movement builders like me or those I present here all the time. 😉

Quotes: progressives colonized by the DP, financial strip mining (Wall Street, financialization, etc.)

Bombshell information at 40:29: When the progressive movement of the 1890s entered the “Democratic” Party too soon, they became dissipated and colonized. Conclusion: befriending one’s too-powerful enemy is risky. Depending on relative power, holding back and building your own power can be the better choice. Since we awoken people are currently trying both inside and outside strategies, let’s be prepared for setbacks and stay flexible to jump ship when necessary, but never give up on our longterm goals of a prosperous and fair country for all, and – most importantly – not see each other as competitors when we are currently working with different strategies.

The Distorted Ethic of our Age (Chris Hedges)

America’s voice of conscience, Chris Hedges, rendered a speech in 2009 which fits well in the wake of my mini-series of Vapid Lives of Destruction, as he reveals the wider circles of our systemic corruption and manipulated mentality on which our inequality-and-cruelty-machine of a system rests. The speech only occupies the first 32 minutes of this video recording (the rest is the Q&A session that isn’t all that good in comparison, so you can save your probably precious time by listening only to the speech):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: »Chris Hedges: “Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle”«)

Video Weekend 01-06-2018 (8 Videos)

The first Video Weekend this year has eight neat videos covering three major themes:

  1. Plutocracy: Evil Incarnate
  2. Media: Brain Washing and Net Neutrality
  3. World Politics: American Empire in the Middle East

I. Plutocracy (Evil Incarnate)

Excellent piece! Taking off the mask of the despicable plutocrats, enemies of the people:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Corporate Leaders Are Not Nice People – Richard Wolff“)

A Plutocrat Despising and Threatening us for Standing up for ourselves

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Why Centrist Democrats Refuse to Embrace Progressivism (w/ Jimmy Dore) “)

Another great piece by Richard Wolff. How the industrial plutocrats brought us to heel. Consumerism VS Lifetime:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “EconoMinute: Consumerism“)

The co-opted government – just cutting improvable programs isn’t beneficial reform:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Trump WILL Cut Social Security, Medicare, And Medicaid “)

Quote: “They meant to take my money and give it to the rich!” A: “Yes, that’s the whole point of the Republican Party!” — Correction: It’s the whole point of the duopoly! Stop giving the “Democratic” Party a pass, Cenk, please. Your plan to take it over from within isn’t really helped by turning a blind eye.

II. Media (Brain Washing & Net Neutrality)

If you read yesterday’s piece about the leftist media myth, here is a clip addressing the gradual right-warping of our mass media and manipulated minds:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “How Fox News Brainwashed Her Dad“)

Follow-up: The Dishonesty of Demagoguery

Update on the continued fight for a censorship-free Internet:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Net Neutrality Repeal Reinvigorates Nationwide Fight for Public Broadband “)

Pity that Mike Figueredo has to pronounce advertisement at the end to finance his work. Any ads you see here on Beanstock’s World, by the way (other than my plea for help and mention of my online course), are placed not by me but by WordPress.com for hosting this blog free of charge. I have picked the route of asking for donations and/or other forms of support (such as link sharing and written contributions).

I am glad that there are other people with a fighting spirit out there who won’t take the oligarchy anymore, maybe more fellow fighters than I am quite aware of:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “FCC Now Being Sued by 17 States, Senate Will Vote to Undo Net Neutrality Repeal“)

III. World Politics (American Empire in the Middle East)

Middle East Open Secrets

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “American’s Biggest Misconceptions About Israel/Palestine Conflict w/Rania Khalek “)

You may also be interested in the earlier half of this interview, focused on Syria and Iran. (esp. interesting starting at 8:05 min)

Note: Please share widely! Social Media are blocking our own attempts to share.

Ending Note: It takes me at least 100 hours a month to research and write for this site and work on my book. If you find any value in what I do, please consider becoming a patron and supporting this site with an automatic monthly donation of $1 or more. If you can’t afford this, then don’t, but please share my posts, tell folks about my online course offering, refer others to this site, refer me to paying outlets or companionable fellow blogs, partake in discussion, or contribute essays of your own. Or help my book get out there when it’s finished. Thanks. Only together can we change this world. 🙂

Video Weekend 11-18-2017 (9 Videos)

This political video weekend edition covers four subjects: Political Corruption, Economy, Media, and Fresh Thinking

I. Political Party Corruption

Can this be real? 5 minutes into this video, reality turns inside out:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Donna Brazile Accidentally Reveals More Than Just DNC Corruption”)

Corruption Anyone? Did you think Donna Brazile was the real deal? Want to really know about corruption in our Twin-Party Tyranny? What if we follow Brazile’s money? Well there you go! Didn’t I tell you she was just another corrupt player?

In case you somehow missed the Donna Brazile revelations, here is a good review:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Nick Brana Comments on Brazile DNC Fraud Admission-Audio”)

II. Economy

Consumerism is part of the yoke we live under:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “[86] Activist Beaten, Arrested For Singing At Big Bank “)

Good interview with David Graeber from 2012 (a good follow-up if you heard his “DEBT: The First 5,000 Years” Google Talk or read my commentary on Wednesday:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Debt: The First 5000 Years – Extended Interview”)

Interesting thought: “Anarchy is democracy without a government.”

An Older (February) but Good Show on Immigrant Rights, Tim Black, Trump, and Basic Income (at 22:29 minutes). Especially the latter (at 22:29 minutes) is worth hearing as on of the best talking takes on UBI this year:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “[46] Tim Black, Lawyers Defending Immigrants, Basic Income & More”)

One point I’d like to add: a basic income is essentially a citizen dividend on our mutually owned country, as opposed to all dividends currently only going to the rich and well-to-do.

III. Media

Enlightening interview (media not beholden to our corporations and deep state are where we can get unfiltered U.S. news from; that includes defamed FOREIGN media):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Abby Martin Exposes Untold History of U.S. Empire “)

Another alternative to censored corporate MSM and social media: Desperate exploited workers hide calls for help in their products:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Sweatshop Workers Sabotage Clothing”)

Despair, the grand old mother of invention…

IV. Rethinking our World

Thinking outside the box is necessary for any successful revolution. There can be no real change unless we change our thinking. According to thise speaker, 95% of the time people run on autopilot (essentially not thinking at all). When they do think, they usually think inside the box, typically a very small box. So, just as this gentleman suggests to business people, in politics, if we want real change for our country, we must likewise begin to think outside the box (a new party, a cross-party people’s coalition bringing in many third parties, not just voting but fixing our bad and rigged electoral system to have integrity and full representation through things like public campaign financing, publicly and oppositional counting of paper ballots, ranked choice or scored voting, a universal basic income combined with a federal job guarantee plus equitably shared national assets and a maximum income instead of merely raising the minimum wage…):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Why the majority is always wrong | Paul Rulkens | TEDxMaastricht “)

And talking about public campaign financing:

A People’s Candidate Reveals the Boon of Public Campaign Financing (13:52 – 15:45):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “This 2018 Progressive Candidate Has Her Pro-Wall Street Opponent SHOOK”)

Addendum: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has won the primaries! 🙂  (+followup-analysis)
