The Party Fence Sitters

When I watch a video like Robert Reich’s piece on our economic decline (presented below), I have mixed feelings. I agree with much and find it good to share with many for a little economic nutshell that even the life-long brainwashed and continuously deluded among us may understand. However, it also irks me that he makes little strategic exemptions for the mainstream party he has been associated with all his life (and the administration he served in). It makes him a fence sitter when he leaves out that Bill Clinton also contributed to our decline and that $Hillary Clinton rigged the 2016 primaries away from Bernie Sanders whom the American People wanted and would have elected over Trump.

He shouldn’t leave out that – even though each country has dark and dumb elements – Bernie’s message of us needing a political revolution to overcome our economic rigging resonated better than Trump’s neo-fascist message that he is a strong and “wonderful” “leader” who is sooo much better than democracy and that blaming weak ethnic groups like immigrants and Muslims is all the cure we need.

There are always some who will buy such baloney, but not the majority of us. Our majority was deprived of its president, and also many other elected posts, as sadly has become the way our country is run. Reich himself hints at it when he draws politicians as puppets on strings held by the rich who pick who gets on the ballot and keep them loyal with continued bribes:

It’s good to have such alternatives to the establishment’s main media. But for us to make true and real change, we will need a great shift from such fence-sitting so-so alternatives to the still largely unknown voices who go all the way, show the whole picture, point out the high aim we need, and pull few punches.  Continue reading “The Party Fence Sitters”

Video Weekend 12-30-2017 (7 Videos)

The topics for this last Video Weekend of 2017:

  1. Our Rigged Political Process
  2. Free Press & Speech
  3. Economy
  4. Some Fun to Finish With

I. Our Rigged Political Process

Challenging the Party Duopoly (a.k.a. Twin Party Tyranny):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: »New “People’s Party” To Challenge Republicans And Democrats«)

II. Free Press & Speech

The upcoming next step to rescue free speech and assembly on the Internet:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “How Suing The FCC Over Net Neutrality Works”)

What we get from a no longer free press: loads of advertisement and propaganda. Remember the Nazi regime, with a one-voice “people’s” radio and outlawing of listening to any other (in this case foreign) stations? The Soviet Union worked similarly. And now it’s us becoming the same:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “TV Network Caught Airing Commercials As News”)

III. Economy

Belt tightening for us but not the rich. Making us pay for debts we didn’t accumulate. Making the underclass pay fo the upper class, and more:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Chris Hedges with Mark Blyth on Contact The Cost of Austerity”)

What’s wrong with the poor? (essentially a rich boy, right-winger, market worshiper, self-righteous, privileged bubble dweller awakens to a bit of reality and realizes the necessity of a UBI which, sadly, some people on the “left” misread just because, like anything else, it can be bungled or misused):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Poverty isn’t a lack of character; it’s a lack of cash | Rutger Bregman”)

Some major points:

  1. venture capital for the people
  2. quite affordable
  3. better to give needy people the money currently wasted on bureaucrats who conduct means tests or think they know better than the people themselves how they should spend it
  4. Too many jobs nowadays are useless, make-work rather than productive. And with increased technological displacement this will get worse.
  5. The goal of education shouldn’t be to prepare you for pointless jobs but for a life well lived.
  6. Productive and wealthy as our nation has become (and the whole planet can become), life without poverty should no longer be a privilege but a right we grant each other. (because we should never stand by idle when fellow humans suffer)

They get to have. We get to watch. They get to fail and cheat us. We get to bail them out. Forget mere regulations, fiddlings, incrementalism and such. The system is foul to the core. It needs a total redesign:

IV. Some fun to finish

Russia, oh Russia, really is rigging our “Democracy,” oh yeah!

The Forces Behind the GOP Tax Scam (Video Report)

A fitting opening for this week where the latest tax scam will receive some scrutiny here (2 articles coming):

Hillary Would Have Been WORSE For Us Than Trump

Let’s be honest. The “Democratic” and Republican Party are not extremes of one another! They are almost identical! No true alternatives, at all. And the same goes for Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Yes, you read correctly. They all screw us (the American working class people) to enrich themselves and their wealthy cronies. And, there is at least one very critically reason why Hillary would have been actually worse than Trump!

Jamarl Thomas, an unusually smart video blogger who I rate highly, gave a very sharp analysis arguing that the confused ones among us should stop, once and for all, to perpetuate the canard that Hillary would have been better than Trump in the Oval Office. In fact, the exact opposite is true! The very sensible argumentation comes from someone situated on what we, in America, traditionally consider the political “left,” a term which in the past was synonymous with the “Democratic” Party, but today is anything but that. Listen or read (or do both). It’s well worth it.

Here is the video, and below it my own summary and commentary:

Remembering the November Election with Lewis Black

I dug this up. It’s still funny (and fitting):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Lewis Black on Donald Trump and Election”)

… except for him dismissing Hillary’s criminal acts (example her arms deals and regime change acts). Maybe he’s getting old. Not sure. I haven’t watched him in years since The Daily Show lost traction.

Video Weekend 5/28/2017: Bernie Sanders and Jimmy Dore on Fire

Best recent videos for you weekend pleasure…

1.) Recently, Bernie ripped the new budget:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Bernie Sanders SLAMS mick Mulvaney Trumps Budget plan, estate taxes”)

2.) Jimmy Dore on the dishonesty of our corporate mass media, the formerly “free” press, the so-called 4th estate which was supposed to keep a watch on governmnet for us. The case exposed: The Washington Post

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Washington Post Caught Blatantly Lying To Their Readers Yet Again”)

3.) Noam Chomsky agrees with Jimmy Dore and me (and you?) on the reprehensible election rigging of the 2016 “Democratic” primaries:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Chomsky’s Comments Give Support For DNC Lawsuit”)

4.) Jimmy Dore on our plutocrats’ horrible arms deals with the Saudi-Arabian terror regime (and thus ISIS, as well):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Saudi Arms Deal Exposes Obama Administration’s Jaw Dropping Hypocrisy”)

As always, you are invited to comment below, and if you agree that the dishonesty of our corporate mass media is a problem, you can help independent media like this one, perhaps the only way to keep us all informed and the ideas flowing.

Why Our U.S. Democracy is no Democracy (PS)

Democracy assumes (quite rightly) that power corrupts, at least in most cases, and leads to abuse. Democracy’s cure for this is to prevent the concentration of power by distributing it to as many people as possible. When they act in their self interest, the interests of the many, even of everybody, are taken care of — as opposed to only the interests of a few callous rulers.

But is that what we have? Continue reading…

A Very Good Explanation of Our Electoral Trap and a Solution (Video)

The great people-power movement known as Represent.Us has added a cure for our idiotic “lesser evil” voting system to their anti-political-corruption fight. Watch and share this video and then act:

Money in Politics: The Stake in our Hearts

The enormous corruption at the top of our country which – as “Money in Politics” – drives all our governmental decisions, not only creates a terribly unjust society which kicks equality and liberty to the curb, but it is like a stake in our hearts when it comes to our ability to rise up and set matters right. It is deeply demoralizing, but we must not let the corruption prevail.

Represent.Us came out with a fitting video about this:
