Presented Albert Einstein quote: The world is a dangerous place not because of those who do evil but because of those who look on and do nothing. (I would add “about it” because of authoritarian slave-minds who think that engaging in politics is “doing nothing” a.k.a. wasting your time. They totally overlook that cases of the government serving its people were ALWAYS achieved through politics pushed by the people. Without that there would be no Social Security, no Unemployment Insurance, and many more often critically needful things. If one refrains from participating in pushing for such things, one does indeed become an accomplice of the evil that ruins so many of our lives.) — Actually, according to brainyquote.com, Einstein really said: “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.” (I always considered him intelligent. So, that fits.)

I especially loved the speech by Kaitlin Sopoci-Belknap and right after that Chris Hedges’ speech (and then Lauren Ashcraft!

Quick Insight: The Espionage Act

There are two ways of learning the nature of a law. One is to read its every word and letter, and try to interpret it as prosecutors and judges will. The second, much simpler and much more accurate way is to look at how it gets applied.

Doing this, the nature of our Espionage Act can be defined in one sentence: “We, the oligarchy can name anyone we don’t like a ‘spy’ and then have them executed or locked away for life. And the people hasn’t rebelled against it gullibly believing our spy smear. Yeehaw!”

Sheesh, what a fine democracy we have become, haven’t we our founders? Why are these whirring noises coming from your graves?

Making a Chilling Example of a Truth Teller

Great interview concerning the Julian Assange case. I fully agree that this case is an effort to make a chilling example of a truth-telling journalist so that no-one ever again dare to spread truth about government malfeasance to the people for fear of being arrested and expedited into the hands of cruel despotic government officials. And we all must stand up against this to fight for our own freedom and a chance to hold our governments accountable.

I must say, Roger Waters really impressed me deeply in this interview. It speaks for itself and covers the main points of importance in this case, including the perverse arguments made by evildoers and their gullible puppets in favor of this persecution. A must-hear interview, especially since even some good-hearted people (like for instance presidential candidate Marianne Williamson as you could see in yesterday’s Video Weekend) are still trapped in the false narratives we have been fed on the mass media:

The overarching theme of Wikileak’s Julian Assange, his history, accomplishments, past celebrity status, recent arrest and current instrumentalization in our oligarchy’s war on free speech and democracy, the forces and interests behind his arrest, and the far reaching consequences of it all, even criminalizing freedom of the press and turning truth-telling into a crime. The horrors likely facing him. Also the reasons why powerful politicians and journalists don’t stand up for him and the basic concepts of free press and democracy… There is a lot to be learned this weekend in and around the news and conversations held along this theme. Great words and revelations from lots of remarkable people: Snowden, Chomsky, Greenwald, Chris Hedges, Tulsi Gabbard, AOC, Tim Black, Jimmy Dore, Mike Figueredo, to mention only a few, also various insiders and a really impressive really powerful speech by Kim Iversen.
