Is the People’s Takeover of the “Democratic” Party Working?

Below, I have written some powerful words, or so I hope. But lets first start with an analysis of recent “Democratic” upheavals by Jimmy Dore’s team to give us some perspective and a starting point for putting our heads together:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Jimmy Dore and the title: “Ocasio-Cortez & Progressives Win – Is it Enough?”)

(Link: Report on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her spectacular win in the primaries presented here on Beanstock’s World a dew days ago.)

So, is the people’s take-over of the “Democratic” Party working? Sadly, the answer is clearly no. Too many attempts of voting in people’s candidates have failed, succeeding only with a handful who don’t carry enough weight to change the party from within. And once they are in, they face obstacles like superdelegates, party bosses, undemocratic structures and top-down rule, gerrymandering and internal riggings, huge Big Money influence, mobbing and a gang mentality, and so forth. They get turned ineffective by layer upon layer of barriers that have been erected to neutralize the will of the people and even the party base.   Continue reading “Is the People’s Takeover of the “Democratic” Party Working?”

Yeah! Bravo, New York! The Candidate for the People Won!

Hooray! She did it! She won, and thus we the people won… in New York for now. There are many more places where we must and can win. If you missed it, here is last night’s election coverage of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (about whom I shared again on Sunday) running against one of our top corruptitians (by TYT, the only good coverage I could find so far… sure, TYT has its issues often still being stuck in old-fashioned party politics, but they still do good work with some regularity, better than the big corporate networks for certain):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TYT and the title: “JUSTICE DEMOCRAT ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ DEFEATS JOE CROWLEY “)

Note: Remember, NY has public campaign financing making victories of people’s candidates running against the establishment so much more possible. Alexandria described it in a video clip shared on here last November. Here it is again, the part on Public Campaign Financing at 13:52 – 15:45 minutes:   Continue reading “Yeah! Bravo, New York! Video Weekend 06-23-2018 (12 videos)

This collection of informative online videos for weekend viewing deals especially with where our money goes (why we have so little and the rich so much), the scapegoating and persecution of immigrants, voter suppression and the secret dismantling of a moral society, the poor people’s campaign, and more. Stars: Paul Jay, Richard Wolff, Lee Camp, Jimmy Dore (a lot), Thom Hartmann, Greg Palast, Nick Braña, and Martin Luther King.

IV. Jimmy Dore

Immigration: Jimmy Dore & Abby Martin had a long discussion on the demonization and abuse of immigrants in our immigrant nation. Flogging and murdering the slaves (the refugee and migrant worker ones) instead of reforming the rigged economy…:

Video Weekend 06-09-2018 (14 videos)

30828705_1754953981262030_6017379293435265024_n

Here, again, is an online video compilation for the weekend to save you from having to waste your little bit of spare time on watching adults chasing balls or accepting the intravenous drip from the propagandist establishment media. It sports a great podium discussion on moving forward from our mess, as well as news and analyses of the mess: for example on how we are getting exploited and betrayed to the extreme, the American poverty nightmare, the issue of people’s lacking awareness and moral standing allowing this mess (and animals showing us the finger), the continued raid on our healthcare, U.S.-conducted world terrorism, a deep system analysis, and a reminder that the universe is lurking in ambush while we fight among each other.

I. Moving Forward

Brilliant Podium Discussion
(from which the title pic above was taken)

A very important point is the abolition of scarcity. In his marvelous speech (starting ~40 min in), Nick Braña points out that, in the past, humans were pitted against each other over limited resources, but modern technology has abolished these outside limits. Soaring inequality is now artificially created by our outdated thuggish system (as I have written before).

Something else that for me lifts Nick Braña to the very top of today’s political activists is his deep understanding of “technology and the pace of modern change” which he addresses in his speech. I have marveled all my life how my fellow humans could be so blind to things like our rapid perfection of surveillance and public mind controlling technologies, automation, and the tension between aging and genetic engineering and gene therapy about to turn our oligarchs into veritable physical gods and condemn the rest of us into permanently huddled masses of the utterly hopeless never again able to revolt against cruelty… Well, he only hints at some of this, but then who is really ready to hear the full scope, yet?

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Left Forum 2018 Session 1 – Independent Power: Towards a Party for Working People“)

Notes:

  • And, as Nick also points out, the DP is teetering giving this generation of Americans an opportunity to unite for a major new party for working people.
  • Tim Canova’s speech (following Nick’s) is also great. And he is right in that, by his running independent this year, independent voters, always blocked from (rigged!) “Democratic” primaries are empowered to throw in their weight. They don’t have to ponder whether it’s worth to bother with rubber-stamping establishment-picked “R” or “D” candidates. When we vote independent or third party, we are no longer forced to chose between cholera and gonorrhea.
  • Great term: Fusion Politics (ignoring party lines, focusing on working people’s needs and violated rights and a genuine way forward)
  • 1:10:55: Nick brings up the 2nd Bill of Rights, which reminds me to remark that ideas like a UBI are just ways of bringing it to pass.
  • Nick Braña quote: Our economic and political systems will act as threat multipliers and they will determine whether we fall on the abundance side of that potential given to us by our technology or on the self-annihilation side. If we remain in a conflict driven society characterized by soaring inequality, sweeping deprivation, and sectarian intolerance, the risk of catastrophe will be extreme. Applying our potential to create an abundant and harmonious world is not just a moral imperative, it’s a matter of survival for all of us.

II. American Nightmare

Today’s American “Dream”: Rich to the Riches, Rags to the Ditch .

These are Facebook videos… so, no hints on how to find them if they get deleted…

III. Where is our Humanity?

Let’s delve into our psychology and compare with our wild cousins…

The biology of fairness, empathy, sympathy, and lack thereof…:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “The Age of Empathy by Frans de Waal“)

Can we really not measure up to our animal cousins?

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “MUST WATCH THIS VIDEO ABOUT ANIMALS HELPING EACH OTHER!!!!“)

The plutocrats have driven much of our compassion and solidarity out of our human society. It’s time we reassert those principles, don’t you agree? It strikes me as a little odd that we tend to call them human or humanitarian principles, even in an age when we have put them aside and are getting shamed by our animal cousins.

And, clearly, I am not the only one thinking this way:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “”Charity Is The Opiate Of Capitalism” – Nellie McKay”)

The interview continues here (discussing Bernie and 2020, among things).

IV. Economy

“Disruptive” Tech as an additional thumb screw and bloodletting on the people:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “How Tech Giants Feed Off Capitalism’s Failures“)

The Mechanism of Rich-and-Poor:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Scumbag Amazon Swimming In Taxpayer Subsidies, Pays Food Stamp Wages“)

Myth and reality:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Are the Rich White Boomers Taking of Millennial Wealth?“)

And the biggest economic unit, our government, which used to spend on us (FDR’s New Deal), today spends on the billionaires instead (who keep telling us that it can’t afford to spend on us):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Starbucks Billionaire: You Can’t Have Healthcare Or College“)

V. Healthcare

Once again, corrupt politics aims at benefiting the rich (health insurance owners) at the expense (ruin, pain, and death) of non-rich Americans (you and me and our friends and families):

This is, once again, a Facebook-only video, so it has no title which I could use to give clues for searching for it. So, good luck finding a copy if this video gets deleted. (Youtube may be working to skew things on behalf of the establishment, but if one posts videos only on Facebook (which isn’t trustworthy either), then the lack of titles makes deleted or re-pathed videos all the harder to find again, which is why it keeps boggling my mind why certain information sources only or mostly post on Facebook neglecting other ‘tubes’. Also, Facebook video streaming is cumbersome, feature-poor, and buggy on the viewers’ end. Oh, well… Enough of my ranting.)

VI. The Terror Empire

No, it’s not ISIS. It’s the U.Sis:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “~199~ 121 Bombs A Day, Poor People Get Angry, Death Of Local News”)

Also: more on other things like healthcare.

VII. System Analysis

A structural system analysis surely giving a high percentage of listeners a lot to think about if the highly intellectual language presents no barrier. The clip, in so many words, agrees with my regularly made claim that our corrupt politics and lousy lives both derive from our rigged economic system which in turn depends for its continuation on our manipulated mentality that has our perceptions and priorities being all wrong:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Critique: Bernie Sanders “Inequality in America” Town Hall from 3.19.18, by Peter Joseph”)

Comment: Bernie may or may not think this deeply, but – running for office – he naturally has to focus on the things that touch people more unquestioningly (the symptoms) rather than a deep system critique (the causes) which many still struggle to comprehend due to the lifelong system propaganda we have been exposed to (unlike the animals shown earlier).

VIII. The Real World

Why humanity cannot afford a corrupt system:

Nature isn’t friendly. Our primary human defense is sticking together, preparing for disasters, and changing our environment to be more supportive of our lives. When we create and maintain a socio-economic-political system that adds more problems, like our current system does (albeit it also still provides some improvements, e.g. running water and groceries), it’s like we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

As a graphic reminder of nature’s threats, here is footage of people fleeing from a pyroclastic flow belched up by a small volcano in Guatemala last week:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Videos Impactantes Captados Durante La Erupción del Volcán en Guatemala 04/06/2018“)

If the locals were better educated, their government more responsible, and our global society geared towards optimizing human life rather than squeezing and suppressing everybody on behalf of the rich, people might have been evacuated on time or not lived so dangerously close to their active volcano in the first place.

And if you succumb to the idea that we are so much more advanced as a society a thousand miles north here in the U.S., ask yourself did we properly prepare the levees for Hurricane Katrina? Did our government provide proper help after Katrina hit, or did it rather enable corporate raiders to take people’s homes away from them to convert them into money-making investments for the rich? Has our government done anything to help our fellow citizens in Puerto Rico devastated by another big hurricane last year, or is it leaving the door open for disaster capitalism again (a form of vulture capitalism) same as in New Orleans? Is it smart of us to ignore nature’s curses and constantly fight among ourselves because we can’t get our act together and dethrone the pillaging oligarchs and abolish the greed-driven, inhumane, anti-human system they imposed on us generations ago, the system which incentivizes inhumane acts and is ruining our country?

Ending Mass Migration

An immigration hysteria has invaded our immigrant nation. It has divided American voters, boosted dangerous politics, resulted in horrible crimes, and obfuscated the true causes of our problems. Both corrupt major parties are pouring gasoline on this fire for their party bosses and secret donors to benefit.

While I don’t share the xenophobic fears of certain people, I have a piece of advice for them: If you worry about too many immigrants, don’t go criminal or inhumane. Don’t waste time on building walls, either. Eliminate the cause of mass migrations, instead.   Continue reading “Ending Mass Migration”

Video Weekend 05-26-2018 (14 videos)

Once again a wide range of online videos about the wrongs of our world and our fight to fix them. Don’t forget to share. Stars and outlets: Jimmy Dore, Kyle Kulinski, The Real News, Democracy Now, Gayle McLaughlin, Richard Wolff, Mike Figueredo, The Majority Report, Yanis Varoufakis, Jesse Ventura, and others on:

  1. The People’s Wishes
  2. Media
  3. Oligarchy (Plutocracy) vs Democracy
  4. Political Corruption
  5. The People’s Fight
  6. Economic Truths
  7. Historic Causes
  8. Poverty and Ethics
  9. Empire

I. The People’s Wishes

Polls reveal popular policies:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for: “Majority Supports Progressive Ideas ” and “Data for Progress“)

II. Media

Corporate media blocking a constructive public conversation:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: »Bernie Yells At Chuck Todd, Stunned By Stupid Question: “Of Course Not!”«)

III. Oligarchy (Plutocracy) vs Democracy

The mentality of the lords and our suffering society. Billionaire’s quote: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Billionaires Justifying Their Wealth: ALWAYS Great Content“)

Comment: “Generational theft”, one of those manipulative brainwashing canards from the establishment, suggests that the old are stealing from the young. News flash: the young will become old and wish to retire when their bodies give out. That’s what Social Security was invented for, to ensure at the public level what t the private level often fails, say when senors’ kids died or are too poor themselves to help them through that difficult last phase of life.

Comment: The “entitlement problem”… When I think of an entitlement problem, I think of the billionaires (the 1%) and their right and left hands (the next 10 to 20%) who live in privilege that 99.9% of them were born into (the others being gold diggers and unscrupulous business predators such as hedge fund managers). They think they are entitled to owning the whole world and having us unwashed masses exit purely to serve them and powder their asses. But those very same demon lords paid PR crooks in “think tanks”, the twin-party tyranny, and the mass media to flip the term and accuse out of luck working class Americans of “entitlement” when they gratefully accept desperately needed help from a government that was created by our founders specifically to lend such help as part of serving the people. The hypocrisy and entitlement thinking of the parasites and predators living a demon lords life at the top of our dungheap society, such as this guy squeezing his wealth from thousands of Home Depot workers, are really stunning. Their motto: Me and my friends have done well. So, what’s the problem?

Antidemocratic philosophies and machinations:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Democracy in Chains: The Radical Right’s Stealth Attack on American Democracy“)

IV. Political Corruption

The party bosses personally rig the primaries:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Progressive Catches Dem’s Rigging Ballot Selection In New Jersey“)

Why not to vote Republican (no reason to vote “Democratic” either):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Republican Voters Get SLAPPED With Reality“)

Let’s not forget that voting for establishment “Democrats” is also self-defeating for the American People.

V. The People’s Fight

Great ideas, including the building of a broad progressive tent (~6:56):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Why Are Million$ Pouring Into CA Lt. Governor Race?“)

News Update on the People’s Grass Roots Fight: A Teacher running amazingly successfully against a party boss, being blocked out by the media, and having an army of volunteers…

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Progressive FIERCELY Challenging Corrupt Corporatist Dianne Feinstein“)

VI. Economic Truths

The truth about risks and profits (risks for us, profits for the rich). Workers run more risks than entrepreneurs and investors:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Economic Update: Another Gilded Age“)

Gist: We are always being told that capitalist inequality is justified by entrepreneurs/investors taking risks with their wealth when they invest into businesses. In truth, if they are half-way smart or well consulted, their eggs are never in a single basket. Meanwhile, workers who “choose” to work for them can loose their jobs, employability, homes, healthcare, and families when those entrepreneurs/investors or their CEOs make mistakes or callous decisions. As workers, in our current system, we live at the mercy of the plutocrats, A.K.A. the 1% and their henchmen.

Money is political, bank magic, inflation, deflation, gold standard, bitcoin, growing fascism, system analysis, DM, healthcare profiteering, pretenses of right-wing populists, changing the conversation…:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “A Brief History of Capitalism. Yanis Varoufakis Interview“)

VII. Historic Causes

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Just the Facts: The Emergence of Modern America- The Gilded Age“)

Empire’s Dark Side (esp. interesting the unconstitutionality of U.S. wars and empire 12:43 min in):

Get to Know the DCCC (“C” Stands for Corruption)

While the DNC marries the entire “Democratic” Party to our plutocracy and infamously rigs especially the presidential primaries, the DCCC (known as D-triple-C or D-Trip) is – as the name Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee suggests – focused on rigging the primaries for the House of Representatives. It does so up close on a district by district basis. It takes candidates by the hand to twist their arms and put on its thumb screws. This is why we so often hear about the DCCC lately in this Congressional election year of 2018.

An examples of how the DCCC works: it puts you on the “Democratic” ticket only if you raise at least a quarter million dollars from its list of wealthy donors, or should I say party owners?   Continue reading “Get to Know the DCCC (“C” Stands for Corruption)”

Good and Bad Tradition

If you can’t think for yourself (or believe that you can’t) you prefer to leave the thinking to the traditions into which you were born. If those traditions are well-balanced, you and those around you may benefit from them. But how can you know if they are actually good traditions if you forfeit your ability to think like a smart human and instead live the instinctive life of an animal that lives its preprogrammed life? Don’t you throw away the greatest gift of humanity, the ability to evaluate, analyze, and improve things?

The theme I am discussing in this short piece is one of the two main pillars of Republican-co-opted conservatism: the placement of tradition over thinking. (Blind faith in authority is the other.) I am not saying that conservatism is bad. Good things deserve to be preserved. But do bad things deserve to be preserved, too? I don’t think so.   Continue reading “Good and Bad Tradition”

I. The People’s Movement

The Violence of The Rich and Well-To-Do

Nick Braña and Portia Boulger talked about the blowout that progressives are suffering in the rigged “Democratic” primaries. How the party bosses play their base and the public… It’s real nice to see young and old get together to reshape our corrupted country. The conversation starts out a bit slow but gets and stays really great and moving after the first half hour:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for: “Nick Braña“, “Portia Boulger“, and maybe something like the blowout that progressives are suffering in the rigged Democratic primaries“)

Portia: [Bill Clinton’s] welfare “reform” took people who were in poverty into dire poverty.

At -32:50 Nick tells about a powerful experience. And Portia adds another great commentary. -27:23: “The basic foundation of society is honesty and treating our people right. Our constitutions in our states and our nation’s constitution talk about taking care of the people. And that’s beautiful about the poor people’s campaign. They are holding people accountable that are supposed to be supporting and protecting our rights. Around -24:40, Nick gives a very astute analysis of news coverage and the “Democratic” Party’s long-standing practice of co-opting change movements and reducing them to nothing but vote gatherers for the party corporatists… and the potential of the Poor People’s Campaign to resurrect the progressive movement that died with MLK’s assassination. -22:13 Portia: People who choose not to be good don’t support poor people. When we got people dying because they can’t afford medical care, that’s violence. And more and more and more by Nick and Portia… (incl. liberal doesn’t mean liberal anymore…)

Portia Boulger has been featured here before[1][2]. Since they are most fitting to watch again, here are the two shared videos again in reverse chronological order:

Discussion about Inside and Outside Strategy with Ron Placone (another sharp young man):

II. The Fight Within the DP Camp

The people want progressive representatives:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Progressives And Socialists Surprise D.C. With Big Primary Upsets”)

Comment: We have had plenty of cases of the “Democratic” Party establishment blocking progressive candidates (people’s candidates) in the primaries, the most famous among recent cases: Dennis Kucinich. The party seems to be corrupted by money in politics to the point of no return, just like the Republican Party. Hence inside pressure in the DP is very useful but will probably fail to change the party, as it has for decades, and a new party or party-transcending people’s coalition will have to join the fight for democracy and a just economy that serves us all. I think that pressure from both sides (inside and outside) is necessary to break the DP corruption and open a way for the people to have its voice. The fact that some progressive challengers do slip through the party establishment’s barriers and then have great success with voters indicates that we voters have learned a lot, aren’t willing to suffer the status quo any longer, and are ready to establish an America for us all. That is very encouraging.

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Trump White House Scapegoats Hamas For Israel’s Slaughter of Gaza Protesters“)

Note: The last death count I heard was 62.

V. Net Neutrality

The fight for an uncensored Internet continues:

VI. Economy

The Ponzi Stock Market & corrupt party bosses:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “~196~ The Huge Fraud Behind Our Stock Market“)

Comment: The Wall Street Casino must be curbed. Financing businesses by buying their stocks is one thing, but gambling stocks with fictitious prices to rob small investors or sell businesses down the drain is another. Remember, inventing soaring prices on virtual objects such as stocks may make some stock market gamblers rich, but the money for which they cash in their stocks to buy their palaces and luxury yachts must come from somewhere — such as from hard-working people who, if they have anything left at the end of the month, may put their hard-earned left-over dollars into a retirement fund which buys stocks to build a source of dividends. That’s where the stock gamblers’ wealth comes from, and it’s the reason why everyday Americans like you and me can no longer get any worthwhile investment returns or saving account interests.

Comments:

Foreign-bought (despot-bought) influence in U.S. politics is massive and destructive. But if you have been swallowing the corporate media and corrupt politicians’ propagandist Russia story, ask yourself if you have ever heard of a think tank hall named after Putin or come across a Russia-endowed center on an American university campus, the things the Saudi princes have planted everywhere in our country.

Better don’t vote for a billionaire thinking he is a successful businessman and therefore good for government. Instead you get an easily manipulated child in a grown-up body (one definition of a billionaire), someone who never had to struggle with hardship and fight for survival or make tough decisions, someone who is much more interested in his public image as a tough guy and in kick-backs since all he has ever been concerned about was himself. When will there be an equivalent Clinton Town Hall, btw?

Ending Note: It takes me at least 100 hours a month to research and write news updates and analyses and work on my book. Please widely share links to these articles, so this work is not for naught.
