Late Ed Schultz’s Swan Song Speech

You may recall that Ed Schultz who died last week lost his corporate media job over wanting to cover Bernie Sanders’s presidential race announcement. Well, he came from the “conservative” side, learned in his life that social responsibility also matters besides looking out for oneself and one’s family; and before he died gave a speech delivering what he had learned (not enough, as he still stood with some corruptitians like Obama who were still able to con him into believing that they mean well, but still he had learned a lot… something worth spreading, I think, since it might resonate with others who are currently less far along on their journey of awakening):

The People Awakening South of the Border, too! The Mexican Bernie Has Won the Presidency!

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Thom Hartmann and
the title: “The Bernie Sanders of Mexico was just Elected President” )

Links: part two (less interesting to me), info on Bush Family Fortunes: The Best Democracy Money Can Buy (the book and movie), Palast’s clip Stealth War on Voters

Word of caution: President AMLO seems to be just another social democrat (or a populist promising social democrat policies), meaning someone planning (or promising) to ease the struggles of the people but not to go so far as to eradicate the root of their struggles. Sadly, history has shown that the people then fall asleep and the corrupt forces at the top take over again, like here in the U.S. for the last several decades.   Continue reading “The People Awakening South of the Border, too! Video Weekend 07-07-2018 (14 videos)

Starring, among others: Thom Hartmann, Susan George, Paul Jay, Thomas Frank (‘Listen, Liberal’), Kyle Kulinski, Mike Figueredo, Ro Khanna, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Steve Grumbine, Bernie Sanders. — One theme emerging from this compilation is the journey of the Republican party through brainwashing to a rich people’s party supported by its brainwashed, and also the journey of traditional conservatives from the GOP to the “Democratic” Party and possibly beyond the false twin-party dichotomy. Yet another indication that conservative, liberal, and progressive are labels that often obfuscate how we really feel and think. Categories:

  1. Awakening Journey
  2. Language, Narratives, Mindset
  3. Vote Shaming
  4. Immigration & Deportations
  5. Brainwash by the Oligarchy

  8. Corruption
  9. Grassroots Campaigning

I. Awakening Journey

The Journey from “Conservative” to “Liberal” to What? (Paul Jay with Thomas Frank). Topics: Reagan. Populism and liberty flipped on their heads.

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Paul Jay, Thomas Frank, and the title: “From Ronald Reagan to Bernie Sanders – RAI with Thomas Frank (5/9) “)

The next part of this clip series may also be of interest, concluding that we live in a system now that BREEDS inequality: Prisoners of Hope – RAI with Thomas Frank (6/9)

II. Language, Narratives, Mindset

Kyle Kulinski on a topic I recently wrote an article about which I have yet to publish (false label use, in particular the confusion between social democracy and democratic socialism), and that what we really want is what really matters, regardless of labels and smears (Addendum: Psst… my piece is published now.):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Kyle Kulinski, Secular Talk, and the title: “Democratic Socialism Vs Social Democracy“)

III. Vote Shaming

Deportations & Protecting the Establishment (and getting us fascism) through vote shaming:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for The Humanist Report , Mike Figueredo and the title: »Kathy Griffin Vote Shames Jill Stein Voters: “F**K YOU ALL.”«)

Comment: The thing to remenber is that fascism is a tactic for protecting the establishment during times of popular unrest!

IV. Immigration & Deportations

Hear a Central American talk about Deportations and abuse of immigrants

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Greg Wilpert, Roberto Lovato, and the title: “Media Coverage of Trump Immigration Policies Ignores Democrats’ Complicity”)

America benefits from being an immigrant nation:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Aaron Maté, Ro Khanna, and the title: “Rep. Ro Khanna: Democrats Can’t Be Liberal at Home But Hawkish Militants Overseas“)

V. Brainwash by the Oligarchy

Outrage and Civility: The self-satisfied, easy-living political gentry have anesthetized political debate:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Thom Hartmann and the title: “Is it Time to be Outrageous?“)

The Oligarchy’s “Libertarian” Brainwash has been Working Globally

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Susan George: Trump in Europe“)

VI. Neoliberalism brilliantly Explained

A Physics Model of Neoliberalism (get ready for the bang)

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Neoliberalism as a Water Balloon“)

VII. New Deal Repeal & Recovery

What does it mean to be Republican?

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Thom Hartmann and the title: “How Far will the Morbidly Rich & Donald Trump Go“)

Having money and time for life when employed full time used to be possible before the oligarchy’s raid on and restructuring of our economy. To a small degree, even self-defined conservatives are beginning to agree that a better structure might be possible:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Thom Hartmann and the title: “Conservative Says If You Work, You Can’t Be Poor? “)

Comment: I wonder if the innate respect for authority and fear of upturning the apple cart makes typical conservatives admire abusive employers.

VIII. Corruption

Government letting the big banks steal:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TheRealNews, Greg Wilpert and the title: “Fed Lets Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley Off Hook, Investors Profit Billions”)

Comment: I can litterally see Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley asking for a bailout soon. (Note: the guy is really off when declaring low unemployment, though)

IX. Grassroots Campaigning

Remix of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez talking:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Could Be The First Latina to Represent Her District in Congress”)

Note: Building local grassrootsis a workable alternative to spending big moeny in order to get on the ballot.

X. Being Human

This week, Steve Grumbine held a moving and inspiring Fourth of July speech I can relate to in a whole number of ways. Maybe so can you. It touches especially upon what it means to be human and living in a society:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Happy Interdependence Day | Steve Grumbine of Real Progressives “)

Comment: Basically the same line along which I wrote my I-Day post this week. Let’s say it together: Happy Interdependence Day! Let’s unf*ck America!

An old man walking… (if it doesn’t display for you, try this link (oh, the eternal trouble with Facebook videos…!)):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title “#BernieSanders @ #Warrens 4th of July parade in Vermont” and pray since this is a Facebook video.)

Comment: Those kinds of clips are very moving for me. A thought that comes to mind, besides gratefulness for Bernie’s impact on public debate, is that most of us are ignored to the extent of becoming invisible when we reach this age, and very surprised how bad life then becomes for most of us captivated in aching withering old bodies and failing minds with no preparation for it by our society or ourselves, as we were busy all our lives struggling to survive within a system of exploitation and oppression.

Video Weekend 06-30-2018 (13 videos)

This weekend’s online video compilation sports stars like Chris Hedges, Ralph Nader, Nick Brana, Jimmy Dore, Lee Camp, Ron Placone, Richard Wolff, “The Rational National”, and more. It deals with many important topics (most especially understanding what is really going on, why we are divided, and what we can do to fix things) ranging across the following categories:

  1. System Analysis
  2. Awakening Journey
  3. Police State
  4. Candidates (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez)
  5. Poor People’s Campaign
  6. Media (and their fake news)
  7. Establishment Walls
  8. Mentality for Change
  9. Economy
  10. People Manipulation

I. System Analysis

Two top analysts and activists exposing our loss of democracy (Ralph Nader & Chris Hedges, need I say more?):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Ralph Nader, Chris Hedges and the title: “American Mythology and the loss of democracy”)

II. Awakening Journey

I have been having issues with TYT ever since they endorsed $Hillary after Bernie was cheated out of the 2016 primaries. On the whole, I find them too friendly towards the “Democratic” Party and too optimistic of the chances for taking it over from within, but we are all on different stops along our political awakening journey, and when someone who is still on a stop behind me says some good things, I do find it worth sharing:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TYT, Cenk Uygur, and the title: “Here Come the Pitchforks! The Left Fights Back, Everybody Loses It!”)

III. Police State

To police or not to police, that’s the question:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TheRealNews and the title: “The Limits of Police Reform: The Origins and Ends of the Police”)

IV. Candidates

Democracy Now’s Interview of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after her historic victory:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for “Democracy Now!” and the title: “28-Year-Old Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Wins Primary on Medicare for All & Abolishing ICE”)

If you missed them, I put out two prior posts this week (also with great videos) on Alexandria and her very pleasing victory, including an analysis of how well the DP takeover is working (or rather isn’t, unfortunately, making us need to emphasize a different strategy):

V. Poor People’s Campaign

Coverage of and talk about the Poor People’s Campaign:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TheRealNews and the title: “The Poor People’s Campaign Speaks Out Against War and Poverty”)

Comment: As for listening before talking and taking newspapers to the suffering communities, there is a cheap and simple way. Newspapers cost materials and money to print. Links to this here site are free. And if some people in those communities have trouble reading, daily reading will rapidly improve your reading, writing, and speaking skills. (sorry, that’s the teacher in me speaking)

VI. Media

Immigration demonization and percentage number games:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Jimmy Dore and the title: “Fox News Research Debunks Fox News Immigration Reporting”)

How the false world news are manufactured:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TheRealNews and the title: “Exposing the OAS’ Anti-Venezuela, Pro-US Bias and Right-Wing Hypocrisy”)

VII. Establishment Walls

Discussion about serious flaws in trying to fight the rigged system from within establishment parties. Case Bernie:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Jimmy Dore and the title: »Another Bernie Organizer “Dem Exits” & Here’s Why«)

Can a people’s champion prevail in the “Democratic” (or Republican) Party machine?

Around 7:50 min in, Nick Brana hits upon a very important fact that too many people still don’t get:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Ron Placone and the title: “Will Bernie Ever Join Peoples’ Party? w/ Nick Brana”)

VIII. Mentality for Change

Next, an important video on the mentality behind the “conservative”-”liberal” divide which the oligarchy so gladly exploits and which we must learn to overcome, uniting as one American people again.

Why we are divided into two tribes and a hint at overcoming the divide:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for TED-Ed and the title: “The moral roots of liberals and conservatives – Jonathan Haidt”)

Comment: Everybody seems to agree on harm and fairness. A question to both, self-defined “conservatives” and self-defined “liberals” about their differences: Would authority be bad if it came from a just and enlightened government that truly represented us all and were fully accountable (authority such as to prevent and prosecute crime)? Should we be joined into different tribes hating on each other instead of the American People dedicated to liberty and justice for all, recognizing that liberty and justice also include the realm of economics like a good income for all, not getting ripped off by global billionaires, and money removed from politics? And for purity, hasn’t our society derailed when corrupt politics, business management, and media are considered normal; when students beat up teachers, seniors are dismissed as useless trash; when TV floods us with way too much sex and violence and twelve-year olds are looking to have sex, just to mention a few things? Not all of these derailments can necessarily be solved by state power. At the same time, we probably cannot overcome our system corruption (such as in politics) unless we clean house inside our minds and hearts.

IX. Economy

The United States of Agony and Suicide, money in politics, the rapacious unscrupulous “elite”, and student debt:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Richard Wolff, Democracy at Work, and the title: “Economic Update: Contradictions Coming Home”)

Note: Well said: “When you have a society in which profits are more important than people, it’s the logical conclusion [that] we are failing to plan for the future. And there is no reason for society to be run this way. And if you look at how we appropriate money and resources it is all part of a plan to [make the rich richer by squeezing others].”

X. People Manipulation

A good run down of the myth by which the oligarchy keeps us in mental chains. Also, the corruption in our legal system:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for Redacted Tonight and the title: “~202~ Eight Great Myths Of America, Socialist Beats Corporate Dem & More”)

Comment: I know, Lee Camp screams a lot, but even if your ears hurt, he often is very worth listening to.

The establishment’s smears don’t wait. They are already smearing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for The Rational National and the title: “Ben Shapiro Blasts Dem Socialist Ocasio-Cortez For ‘Radical’ Platform”)

Comments:

  1. I suspect that members of the “Democratic” gang will keep playing such progressive victories down as anomalies, while members of the Republican gang describe them as a scary irrational movement out to ruin the nation with unaffordable gifts under the Christmas tree. Each are preaching in the way they know has been working for a long time to their specific audiences, doing everything i their power to keep the American people divided.
  2. I regularly mention the millionaire minions who guard and work in support of the robber billionaires, upholding and further rigging our political and economic system – and playing with people’s heads – in order to enrich themselves with blood money from the oligarchy. Ben Shapiro, as revealed in this video, does exactly that. He isn’t giving you the news or sensible analyses of it. He is on the payroll to manipulate voters on behalf of the scum we sometimes call “elite”.
  3. The occupation of Iraq wasn’t merely a “mistake”. It was a war crime killing, crippling, and dislodging millions, destabilizing the whole region, and thus even lead to ISIS.
  4. These shills are not conservative voices. They are Republican voices. We all are a mix of conservative and progressive inside (or even “liberal”, if you like that word). These shills are shephers for the political establishment gang known as the Republican party who cultivates a voter bloc to uphold the establishment, just like the “Democratic Party” gang does on the co-opted, or should I say faux, left. As the DP is faux-left/liberal/progressive, the GOP is faux-conservative. They are all about pushing the right buttons in people to get them to divide and vote against their own interests and values.
  5. Extremely important point well said: “The money is already being allocated, but it is not being allocated to the vast majority of people, it is being given to the people at the top and to multinational corporations who are also at the top. These are the people who have all the power [and wealth] already, and they continue to squeeze you dry for every f***ing cent you have.”

The Necessary Political Revolution

The challenge: A tiny minority owns almost everything, holds all the systemic power, and denies the rest of us a voice and decent lives. Superficial fixes will either fail or not last long. If, however, we understand the root of our problems, we can fix all the underlying causes of our troubles and thereby end our problems for good. Opposing forces who prefer the status quo or are confused will naturally cause a delay. Many battles for change we will therefore often not win immediately. Therefore we must act with persistence. If we persist, and don’t let ourselves be satisfied with scraps and bones, we can win definitely, as we are not yet – (but almost!) – irrevocably controlled, or so I like to think. We simply must not give up and use the time given by the delays to educate ourselves even better since, in the fight for the future, knowledge – such as understanding and workable plans – is power.

The timing: Since the dark forces have been long at work to make their rigged system impervious to change, we must fight hard not to pass the point of no return (when surveillance, mental manipulation, and brutal force become too perfected to be overcome). And we must change things so fundamentally this time that the classic corruption cannot kreep back as it always has after merely superficial system changes of the past.

The vision: A world built on the prime goal of a good life for all may seem like a new world, but – actually – it is a return to ancient, pre-classical times. The only thing new in a modern return to fairness and benevolence is the enormous amount of science, technology, and other forms of know-how and infrastructure that the ancients didn’t have, and which in combination with the return to a moral society will usher in a veritable Heaven on Earth, a Star-Trek-like world, putting behind us the current Hell on Earth we have inherited from classical times of artificially constructed gross inequality known variably as slavery, feudalism, mercantilism, colonialism, capitalism, and so forth.

Distracting labels: All those economic isms which are nothing more than legalizations of theft and violence from above must be put away into the annals of history, as a horrible interim that humanity suffered after the invention of agriculture, cities, nations, and unfettered global trade, which disrupted the communality of ancient societies and gave sociopathic bullies a chance to dominate everybody else and write their domination into law.

You may wonder about alternative isms that have been proposed and – at least allegedly – tried: Socialism and communism, especially. The point can actually be made that we have never yet seen a true realization of those isms. Communism was merely a new name invented for despotic state-capitalistic regimes (which replaced billionaires with high-ranking party officials that acted within a nationwide production plan, sort of like a single super-corporation). These regimes had resulted from derailed socialism-inspired revolutions and retained very little of their socialist goals. The one socialist goal best realized was the idea that nobody be left in poverty when there was enough to go around. The democratic goal was removed, however. Real socialism has therefore only been realized to some degree on smaller levels like democratically run worker-coops or aspects of it being interwoven with capitalist systems in so-called Social Democracies or Social Market Economies, such as we see in Europe with things like healthcare for all, free education, and non-terminating welfare.

Lessons from the past: We had much the same in the U.S. with the New Deal, but the problem with superficial implementations is that the underlying cause of hoarded wealth and the power it wields influencing and taking over governments remained in place, so the repeal of these measures for the common good were unavoidable.

The awakening: Rather than focusing so much on labels (isms and names for party affiliations and such), A.K.A. political PR packaging, we should therefore focus on the issues and their underlying causes, especially the root of it all: legalized systemic inequality (wealth and power hoarded by the few and denied everyone else) supported by a warped morality that makes this loss of liberty and justice seem natural and OK (even valuable to some), and therefore incurable. When most of us finally mature to categorically reject this rigged system and warped mentality, and we commit ourselves to a good life for all as the governing principle, the system of corruption will collapse — but only then. We will then be able to take the right steps (like reforming or replacing corrupt political parties and our malignant electoral system, insisting on government fairness and the common good, implementing a fair and democratic economy that allows no gross inequality, setting societal goals that put people over profits and good health and fulfilling lives over plutocratic wealth hoarding, and deal with non-artificial problems such as the ravages of aging, and so on). Therefore, let us resolve to walk this walk. Let us learn, think, and discuss constantly. Sharing and promoting pieces like this one with as many people you can – or helping information sites like this – are a big part of this stage of our fight for lives worth living. After one wakes out of a coma, one must not just blink but look around, examine, and communicate. That is exactly what we must do.

Strategy Condensed: The Way Forward

To solve our tragic and growing problems while we still can(!), we must put aside traditional party allegiances and blind loyalties, and instead join forces to focus primarily on election integrity (so our votes count and aren’t suppressed), on getting money out of politics (so our votes even matter), and on reforming our extremely rigged economic system so it can’t continue to fuel money in politics and the manipulative narratives which currently shape much of public opinion. Blood money from our rigged economy finances two corrupt major parties, an army of lobbyists 42,000 strong, and nation-wide brainwashing through “think tanks” and corporate mass media. This is how the establishment recovered from FDR’s New Deal and re-corrupted absolutely everything. I suppose that, while we are at it, we should also break up the big media trusts, not just the big banks. What say? In the meantime, let’s make use of and support alternative media like this one, so we can grow our own awareness and that of those around us. Naturally, let’s push for our immediate needs, as well: healthcare for all and reasonable drug prices, income security, a fair corruption-free justice and law enforcement system, free education at all levels, protection of communities and the environment, and so on.

Be a leader. Be one of the first to vote outside the twin party tyranny when outside candidates are far better than the corporate stooges dominating the Dempublican charade. There are still people who let themselves be played by the you-can’t-vote-third-party-or-independent-unless-the-majority-is-already-doing-so fib. That’s a trick to maintain the status-quo, and the way to break through this is to lead the way rejecting this false choice narrative.

Quickynews – The High and Mighty Need not Stay above the Law

We are used to presidents, CEOs, and so forth to be above the law in our country. They have demonstrated that they can commit any crime (lie, steal, torture, and mass murder) and get away with it. However, let’s realize that we can change this. Let’s take a look at other countries, Peru for example. Former Peruvian President Fujimori was recently released after many years spent in jail — supposedly on humanitarian grounds because of bad health at his old age. His successor (Toledo) is currently taking cover in the U.S. with an international arrest warrant issued against him. His successor (Humala) is currently being investigated, and his successor (Kuczynski), who is the current president in office, is also in the cross hairs already. Wait a moment… just another moment… Yup! Kuczynski just stepped down shortly before an assured impeachment. Let’s see if he manages to flee the country before he is apprehended.  Continue reading “Quickynews – The High and Mighty Need not Stay above the Law”

Want to Celebrate our Dreadful Economy Together with the Washington Post?

money-rules

Recently, an article in the business section of the Washington Post praised our economy (with an eye on edifying Obama, the alleged savior from the Great Recession, while putting down Trump’s campaign appeal to struggling Americans):

The article’s headline boasts: Middle-class income hit highest level on record in 2016, Census Bureau says

And this cheer is based on this claim: Median household income rose to $59,039 in 2016, a 3.2 percent increase from the previous year and the second consecutive year of healthy gains, the Census Bureau reported…”

Sounds like we are having a good time, huh? So, uhm… why don’t we actually?  Continue reading “Want to Celebrate our Dreadful Economy Together with the Washington Post?”

America Must Radicalize – But in the Correct Direction

Over the last three or four decades, our nation has steadily declined. Furthermore, the fire sale of our country – and of the democracy that we need so badly to take it back – is not slowing down but reaching a feverish frenzy. We, the people, must therefore act quickly and with resolution. In other words, any clinging to the false hope of gradual improvement, with a small reform here and a tiny tinkering there, is a most stupid stance which ignores the ongoing fire sale and which we no longer have the luxury to believe in. Gradualism has proven itself a false promise, an insincere voter pacification, over the course of those dismal decades that saw our country go down the drain as our politicians from both major parties talked a good game but sold us out to wealthy special interests behind closed doors. Instead of hoping for gradual change-for-the-better to come from the people who have been selling us out, we must go after the root problems, which is to say: we must radicalize.

Canary in a Coal Mine

A lot of good people don’t like Debbie “the Sane Progressive” Lusignan since she takes no prisoners and yells a lot. Still, while her completely uncompromising stance dismisses even personalities like Bernie Sanders as an establishment sell-out (after originally supporting him before he made some – at least partially questionable – compromising moves), her ability to sniff out flaws and potential problems in political strategies and personalities strikes me as unmatched. And while a canary’s chirping may get on your nerves, that chirping bird is still tremendously valuable, since – if you wait to notice dangerous coal mine gases yourself – it’s usually going to be too late.
