Allies Against Democracy

Modern forms of democracy were invented to restore to the members of large societies their self-determination and their participation in large-scale decision making which our ancestors, living in purely small communities, had always enjoyed. It is in our nature that we desire to have a say in our own affairs, both large and small. Without this, we easily feel enslaved, and – more importantly – actually ARE enslaved, even if we have been duped into being unaware of it. We want freedom. We want our say. But when we are duped, we lose both.

In the modern case of sly enslavement, we typically only feel the horrors of denied healthcare, broken dreams, blocked opportunities, crushed hopes, financial despair, and the shame imposed on us when we get blamed for our situation, even if overwhelming outside forces brought each of us there. We feel the pain, but we fail to notice our enslavement coupled with our loss of democracy.   Continue reading “Allies Against Democracy”

U.S. Politics: Friends fighting Friends

Let’s never forget: we are all in this together.

One topic I keep having to revisit is the massive in-fighting I see among those who have woken up to the fact that our country (and therefore the quality of our lives) is a total mess, and who want to change this. The disunity that has been spread among us from above is often so bad that, even when I try to bring people together on the issues by debunking the myths and false narratives which divide us, I end up getting accused of divisiveness.

An example of what can get me such ridiculous accusations would be any thoughtful response I make to the weird claim that supporting causes of true value in 2016 was a big mistake because we all should instead have lined up behind Hillary Clinton (a representative of the establishment) as she would allegedly have been less bad than Trump (another representative of the establishment, albeit one who claimed not to be). Something else that can get me smeared is when I support an inside-outside strategy for political change, as some people fight on the inside path and regard the outside path as competition and vice versa. Another statement that can get me smeared is when I point out that any Russian meddling in our 2016 election, when seen in proportion to our domestic election rigging, could never have been a truly big deal — no bigger than a Russian passerby tossing a lit cigarette into a burning house. (I’ll get into a little detail on this below.)   Continue reading “U.S. Politics: Friends fighting Friends”

Xenophobic News: The United States of Aliens

heads-dd-col

Oh, my! We’re the United States of Aliens! We’re a Halloween Nation! Our monsters don’t all speak English at home! Write your last will! The end is near!

Xenophobic Americans — you know, Trump supporters convinced that poor immigrants rather than the establishment are responsible for our rigged system — are circulating news like this to reinforce their xenophobia.  Continue reading “Xenophobic News: The United States of Aliens”

Video Weekend 9-16-2017 (7 Videos)

Once again, friends, I give you a great collection of recent videos which will fire up your will to fight for a better world and warm your hearts in the company of like-minded fighting spirits who, just like you and I, have had enough of a rigged system and corrupt despots in our lives.

I. A MUST-SEE: THE ONE BIG VIDEO only a weekend may give you time for. A really great conference FULL OF GREAT THOUGHTS :

We have Trump as POTUS now because we don’t have a working people’s party in this country. While the majority of us (60% of Americans) wish for a new party to end the corruption of our party duopoly, a growing bunch of folks are working hard to actually make it happen (you may join them). Some of the leading figures met recently to discuss many issues and work on the plan. This clip, while really long, is well worth watching. The perhaps best part (among many great ones), at least for me, goes from 1:20:00 to 1:32:27:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Draft Bernie Sanders Panel with Cornel West, Kshama Sawant, Jimmy Dore, Nick Brana “)

Another good point made here: Our ruling politicians are posers, posing to be the people’s representatives, posing to be working Americans’ friends.

II. American Tribalism & Hillary’s Continued Blame Campaign:

  1. How segments of the people get played against each other, and what it takes for some people to be shaken out of their happy bubble slumber.
  2. Lee Camp reacts to HRC’s recent alternative facts book and media campaign. Talk about a horrific zombie on TV…

III. The Walking Dead

Sheesh! Crooked Hillary crawling back from the grave gives me a reason to actually look into right-wing media. It’s amazing how (with a few exceptions of dubious stuff) the below clip is spot on and better than what most “left” media have to say about this corrupt graft politician:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: ” She DESTROYS HILLARY’S NEW BOOK! “)

IV. Fun Snapshot

To conclude on the last issue, a little fun in form of an unedited smart-phone recording. You probably have seen it already, but in case you haven’t, here it is:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: ” Hillary Clinton Confronted at 2017 Book Signing! Deleted Emails? Benghazi? Seth Rich? [mirrored]“)

V. And Since We Are on the Topic of Fun…

Successful revolutionaries throughout history have always reminded us that we must find joy in the fight to fight it well and not burn out, and – indeed – comedians have often been the first voices of rebellion:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: ” Lee Camp and Jimmy Dore: Comedy’s Role In Political Revolution“)

VI. Finally, Bernie on the Election Theft Against Him:

A rare moment: Bernie hedgingly commenting on the DNC’s election fraud in the 2016 primaries .

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: ” Bernie Sanders Finally Comments On DNC Fraud Lawsuit“)

Bernie responded to this caller as I expected: he carefully avoids entering a risky debate, but between the lines hints that he always knew he would be up against a gigantic political machine of utter corruption, that he went in for the long fight on the issues not just a quick win of the highest office which was practically impossible while this corruption is at the height of its power, and that he got the stone rolling for a political revolution which no man can run alone. We, who have awoken, must wake up more of our fellow Americans and form a political movement millions strong to set things right in our country.

VII. Two Shining Stars Talking

And, to finish an insightful conversation between Tim Black and Kashama Sawant :

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: » Kashama Sawant: “The Democratic Party Will Not Be Our Vehicle For Change!”«)

Kashama Sawant: “The Democratic Party Will Not Be Our Vehicle For Change!”
Kashama Sawant: “What a person looks like is less important than whose side they are on.”

And here is the link she gave: socialistalternative.org

Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and don’t forget to share these videos with your friends and family! 🙂

Quickypinion: Anyone Who is Wrong Can Become Right

In a discussion, I overheard the words: “It’s not that you’re bad. It’s that you’re wrong.” It lit off a little spark in my mind, having to do with the divisiveness in our country that makes it so difficult for us to advance as a society. Bad people may be beyond reform, unless they carry a seed of good inside. People who are merely wrong, on the other hand, can become right as long as they don’t go on the defensive when someone accuses them of being bad.  Continue reading “Quickypinion: Anyone Who is Wrong Can Become Right”
