The Smooth Way Out of Capitalism

When the rules of a game are bad, the obvious thing to do is to change the rules. Many people today realize that capitalism is working against them but aren’t sure what to do about it while others are still wavering in doubt. Let’s take a closer look then and discover a simple solution that would leave the markets intact but remove their oligarchs and our systemic corruption, harm, and suffering; healing our economy, democracy, and lives.   Continue reading “The Smooth Way Out of Capitalism”

The Necessary Political Revolution

The challenge: A tiny minority owns almost everything, holds all the systemic power, and denies the rest of us a voice and decent lives. Superficial fixes will either fail or not last long. If, however, we understand the root of our problems, we can fix all the underlying causes of our troubles and thereby end our problems for good. Opposing forces who prefer the status quo or are confused will naturally cause a delay. Many battles for change we will therefore often not win immediately. Therefore we must act with persistence. If we persist, and don’t let ourselves be satisfied with scraps and bones, we can win definitely, as we are not yet – (but almost!) – irrevocably controlled, or so I like to think. We simply must not give up and use the time given by the delays to educate ourselves even better since, in the fight for the future, knowledge – such as understanding and workable plans – is power.

The timing: Since the dark forces have been long at work to make their rigged system impervious to change, we must fight hard not to pass the point of no return (when surveillance, mental manipulation, and brutal force become too perfected to be overcome). And we must change things so fundamentally this time that the classic corruption cannot kreep back as it always has after merely superficial system changes of the past.

The vision: A world built on the prime goal of a good life for all may seem like a new world, but – actually – it is a return to ancient, pre-classical times. The only thing new in a modern return to fairness and benevolence is the enormous amount of science, technology, and other forms of know-how and infrastructure that the ancients didn’t have, and which in combination with the return to a moral society will usher in a veritable Heaven on Earth, a Star-Trek-like world, putting behind us the current Hell on Earth we have inherited from classical times of artificially constructed gross inequality known variably as slavery, feudalism, mercantilism, colonialism, capitalism, and so forth.

Distracting labels: All those economic isms which are nothing more than legalizations of theft and violence from above must be put away into the annals of history, as a horrible interim that humanity suffered after the invention of agriculture, cities, nations, and unfettered global trade, which disrupted the communality of ancient societies and gave sociopathic bullies a chance to dominate everybody else and write their domination into law.

You may wonder about alternative isms that have been proposed and – at least allegedly – tried: Socialism and communism, especially. The point can actually be made that we have never yet seen a true realization of those isms. Communism was merely a new name invented for despotic state-capitalistic regimes (which replaced billionaires with high-ranking party officials that acted within a nationwide production plan, sort of like a single super-corporation). These regimes had resulted from derailed socialism-inspired revolutions and retained very little of their socialist goals. The one socialist goal best realized was the idea that nobody be left in poverty when there was enough to go around. The democratic goal was removed, however. Real socialism has therefore only been realized to some degree on smaller levels like democratically run worker-coops or aspects of it being interwoven with capitalist systems in so-called Social Democracies or Social Market Economies, such as we see in Europe with things like healthcare for all, free education, and non-terminating welfare.

Lessons from the past: We had much the same in the U.S. with the New Deal, but the problem with superficial implementations is that the underlying cause of hoarded wealth and the power it wields influencing and taking over governments remained in place, so the repeal of these measures for the common good were unavoidable.

The awakening: Rather than focusing so much on labels (isms and names for party affiliations and such), A.K.A. political PR packaging, we should therefore focus on the issues and their underlying causes, especially the root of it all: legalized systemic inequality (wealth and power hoarded by the few and denied everyone else) supported by a warped morality that makes this loss of liberty and justice seem natural and OK (even valuable to some), and therefore incurable. When most of us finally mature to categorically reject this rigged system and warped mentality, and we commit ourselves to a good life for all as the governing principle, the system of corruption will collapse — but only then. We will then be able to take the right steps (like reforming or replacing corrupt political parties and our malignant electoral system, insisting on government fairness and the common good, implementing a fair and democratic economy that allows no gross inequality, setting societal goals that put people over profits and good health and fulfilling lives over plutocratic wealth hoarding, and deal with non-artificial problems such as the ravages of aging, and so on). Therefore, let us resolve to walk this walk. Let us learn, think, and discuss constantly. Sharing and promoting pieces like this one with as many people you can – or helping information sites like this – are a big part of this stage of our fight for lives worth living. After one wakes out of a coma, one must not just blink but look around, examine, and communicate. That is exactly what we must do.

Only together can we change this messed-up world. Let’s do it! 🙂

Video Weekend 10-21-2017 – Part B: The Root of the Problem

We all know that our economy is a mess and that the money-royalty, whom I like to call our robber billionaires, has bought our politicians and thereby our government which therefore colludes with them to squeeze the rest of us further and further out of a livable life so the rich can become richer and richer at the expense of us becoming poorer and poorer.

It’s nothing new. If it was new to you, watching and reading this week’s series on this topic should have brought you up to speed. I recommend you share the posts from the week that is now ending with everybody you know who is still unclear.

But what good is all that muck-raking unless we dig down to the root of the problem? Well, you may be surprised. After a week of sharing the work of more or less well-known personalities with you, today – in order to take you to the root of the problem – I will share with you an article and video from someone much less known, plus another video which might seem to come out of left field because it isn’t about humans but nevertheless shows us a way out of our man-made set of problems.

I hope you’re exited, because this is gonna be good.  Continue reading “Video Weekend 10-21-2017 – Part B: The Root of the Problem”

Video Weekend 10-14-2017 – Part B (3 Videos)

Sundays are meant to be relaxing. So, here are three calm videos of politically educational caliber. The first connects with yesterday’s videos by being yet another reason for Americans to appreciate RT. How often do U.S.-establishment-controlled media discuss issues like these?

Peter Joseph on our current state of things and our so much better alternative options:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Empire Files: Peter Joseph & Abby Martin on Abolishing Capitalism”)

Antidemocratic “Democrats” :

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Smash The Democratic Party, Save the World “)

Gist: If the DP resists change, dismantle or starve it. Something else will take its place. Something better. Challenge corruption in politics! Bernie Sanders is the “Democratic” Party’s ghost of Christmas past, showing it (and everybody else) what this party used to stand for but no longer does. Long ago it acted as a people’s party, not just another tool for the robber barons (Republican Party 2.0), and Bernie keeps reminding everybody of that.

Humanity First Instead of Markets First

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “The Ultimate Problem is Trust : “)

Gist: Our current economic system knows only one goal: profit for the few. If that means stealing from the poor to give to the rich, the people in charge don’t so much as blink.

Video Weekend 9-30-2017 (11 Videos)

A weekend collection of videos dedicated to fair-world issues of healthcare, the political revolution, smears of challengers by the establishment, the devastation of Puerto Rico by far more than just strong winds, information and freedom of speech under attack, the dark deeds of the corporatist global empire, and a vision for the future to fight for.

I. Bernie & Bob Conversation

Let’s listen to Bernie in a conversation rather than a stump speech:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Bernie Sanders & Robert Reich discuss how we defeat Republicans’ horrid ‘health care’ proposal “)

Robert Reich: “A lot of [working/poor] people don’t realize that they are fighting over a smaller and smaller slice of a pie that is actually getting bigger; but most of the pie is going to a very tiny group of very powerful people who are using some of that wealth to pollute and corrupt politics. … It’s not about “message” [manipulative catch phrases and such]; it’s about framing the issue ,so people understand what is really happening. It’s about giving people the motivation and the hope that they can join together and act on what they now understand.”

Bernie: “You gotta go into Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kansas, and Indiana, and you gotta go into those rural areas, and say: ‘You know what? Your kid can’t afford to go to college. And the black kid in Cleveland can’t afford to go to college. Don’t you think that maybe we should work together to make public colleges and universities tuition-free?’”

Bernie didn’t even have a Super PAC for his 2015-2016 campaign. I am increasingly convinced that Bernie’s campaign was never about the presidency but about mobilizing the American People against the cruel and destructive rule of the oligarchs. He never thought, setting out, that he could win the presidency. But he did hope he could change our conversations, away from establishment BS to the things that really matter, step by step, starting small, and he did succeed with that. An enormous first victory for the people, but certainly not one to stop at.

II. How the Establishment Smears its Challengers

Things that Bernie carefully tried to avoid was getting himself (and thereby the burgeoning people’s movement) smeared out of existence by doing one of these two things many of us desired him to do: (A) going against the DNC’s election theft that stole the primaries from him (because too many Americans were not, and – I fear – still are not awake and informed enough to believe in the giant extent to which our elections are being doctored and rigged), and (B) giving fodder to the corrupt corporate media for making claims that he was the spoiler in the general election that gave us Trump (if he had run independently or in the Green Party), the way Ralph Nader, one of America’s greatest public heroes, was smeared and slandered to the very fringes:

The dog and pony show we call politics in America, and the old tactic of smearing those who challenge the establishment (and far too many people believe these smears):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Al Gore Betrayed Blacks, Progressives & America, Not Ralph Nader “)

Here was Ralph Nader in 2009 arguing for Medicare for All:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Ralph Nader on Single Payer Health Cae “)

Ralph Nader: “If you are not into politics, politics is gonna be into you.”

III. Puerto Rico: Storms and Continuing Colonialism

The news about Puerto Rico shouldn’t merely cover the hit by Hurricane Maria in isolation of all else:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “What You AREN’T Being Told About Puerto Rico & The Disaster Unfolding There “)

Debbie Lusignan, who no longer cares to call herself the Sane Progressive because labels like ‘progressive’ have so successfully been abused by the establishment to divide us – and she really speaks for ALL the people – also informed herself about Puerto Rico. So, if you want a longer explanation, you can listen to her:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Puerto Rico Billionaire Vultures As Destructive as Hurricane Maria “)

If you need a reminder of our climate becoming more severe, here is a compilation of footage from Hurricane Irma, one of a cluster of record-breaking weather events that popped up this year:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “MOST SHOCKING Footage Of Florida Hurricane Irma #Florida #IRMA “)

IV. Information and Freedom of Speech under Attack

I touched upon this before, for instance on Thursday: our Information and Freedom of Speech (not the stupid porn kind, but the one that allows us to have a voice in our affairs and organize ourselves against our predatory establishment) is under attack:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “The Corporate State Escalates Media Censorship [79] “)

V. Resisting the Faux-Resistance

I am no friend of the astroturphed Resist-Trump “movement,” since I see it as a sheepdogging effort to keep the corporatist neoliberals in power over the “Democratic” Party and thereby the party duopoly in its seat of blocking the American People from having a democracy and a country with prosperity, justice, and liberty for all. Still, if this video was indeed shot at an Anti-Trump event, it is still worth sharing because of so many sensible people having the once-in-a-lifetime chance to speak their minds:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Empire Files: Voices From The Anti-Trump Resistance “)

Well, if you read the explanation TeleSUR left under its Youtube posting, you can actually see why these folks were so spot-on. They are part of this effort: “On September 16-17 a major national gathering was held in Washington, D.C. called the People’s Congress of Resistance, a broad and diverse coalition of organizers and community leaders formed to build the class-struggle wing of the anti-Trump movement.”

Hah! Fellow non-privileged, anti-establishment, day-to-day Americans are moving in to undo the sheepdogging. Kudos!

VI. Vision for the Future

Looking a stone throw beyond the Bern:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Michael Parenti on Bernie Sanders “)

Brightest point made: Bernie says that we want the rich to pay their share, too. That makes for a good start perhaps; but don’t we, in the end, want more? Don’t we deserve more? Don’t we want the rich to stop ruling our lives and meddling with our minds to control us? How about this: envision a world of shared prosperity in which we all have good lives, not suffering from want, fear, and despair. A world in which there are no poor and no rich.

VII. The Militarized Corporations

The parasitism of the military industrial complex works hand in hand with the parasitism of Big Oil and other large, hungry corporations (the tools of the robber billionaires):

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Can you face the truth you TV and Smart-phone Junkie !? – Michael Parenti – The Face of Imperialism “)

VIII. Global Corporate Empire

Meet the global empire of the robber billionaires:

(Note: if the video linked above gets deleted, you may search the Internet for the title: “Michael Parenti – To Kill A Nation”)

Are we finally coming to understand who the enemy of everybody is? The robber billionaires live like gods but are demons. (My guess is, the speech in this video was given in around the year 2000 when Parenti’s book “To Kill a Nation: The Attack on Yugoslavia” came out.)
